According to Wales Interactive, Maid of Sker is based on the true story of Elizabeth Williams. It takes place in Victorian Wales in 1898. The setting is Sker House, a real dwelling that still exists and is said to be one of the most haunted in Britain.

Gameplay is focused on stealth, exploration and no-weapon survival tactics. Experience a multiple thread narrative where your decisions matter, unlocking different story paths and multiple endings.

The core survival gameplay mechanic is a 3D sound-based AI system. In order to survive, you’ll have to hide, run, creep, trap and distract. There will be times when all you can do is stand still and hold your breath.
