A highlight at last night’s Game Awards was the King’s Quest™ reveal trailer where King’s Quest series creator Roberta Williams received high honors alongside her husband and fellow Sierra co-founder, Ken Williams, in a ceremony that looked back on the long legacy of King’s Quest™ and Sierra. The duo received the Industry Icon Award to celebrate their contributions to video game culture and creativity. However, neither of them are involved with the development of the new game.

The new King’s Quest™ is being developed by The Odd Gentlemen who say the game is not a re-make, but rather a re-imagining of all the charm, humor, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago. Old and grey, King Graham – the hero made legend in the original King’s Quest games – shares the extraordinary stories of his youth with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn, taking players back to the feats that shaped a kingdom.

Reports have stated that while King’s Quest™ will not be a point and click adventure, it will bring the same blend of “difficult puzzles and engaging narratives.”
