Twin Mirror is a three-episode psychological thriller from DontNod Entertainment (Life Is Strange) and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment. It tells the story of investigative journalist Sam Higgs, who returns to Basswood, West Virginia — his hometown — for a friend’s funeral. This is a difficult homecoming. The town holds lots of bad memories and painful feelings. He is reminded of his worst life choices in this place.

But Sam isn’t exactly “alone.” He comes with an inner voice who acts as “occasional advisor and permanent wise-ass.” This is manifested visually as Sam’s duplicate. It represents Sam’s more-or-less hidden self-confidence and his survival instinct. This duality lies at the heart of Twin Mirror.

Sam awakens the day after the funeral to find his shirt covered in blood. He has no memory of what happened. But he does have a unique ability to use an interior experience known as memory visualization, which is referred to as his Mind Palace. This enables Sam to unravel the mysteries he encounters in Basswood.

Episode One of Twin Mirror, entitled Lost on Arrival, will appear sometime in 2019, exact date TBD. The game will be released on Windows, PS4 and Xbox One.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
