Umeshu Lovers Releases a Bona Fide Forest of Liars Announcement Trailer – April 22, 2018

The four members who comprise Umeshu Lovers Studio are video game veterans who feel it would be difficult to create a game such as Forest of Liars under commercial studio constraints. They have, therefore, opted to go indie and are looking to raise the funds they need via Kickstarter.

The studio is looking to raise €90,000 ($107,743) by May 31st. This will enable the hiring of additional personnel and the release of the game not only on Windows and Mac but on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Approximately 23% of the base amount has already been achieved.

Forest of Liars is being build using the Unity engine. As the game unfolds, it will take the player into a vast labyrinth of ethereal beauty. At its heart are imagination-defying mysteries. No one who has entered the forest has ever returned.

You will meet many NPCs who could help or hinder you; you must decide whom to trust. Who is being truthful? Who is lying?

Further, no two playthroughs will be the same. The game will offer different situations, events, encounters and settings each time.

A wealth of additional info is available on the game’s Kickstarter page. And be sure to check out the FAQs.

Umeshu Lovers is looking to release Forest of Liars on Windows and Mac at the end of 2019 or beginning of 2020. Depending on the success of the Kickstarter campaign, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One versions could follow.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
