Mografi Has Been Hard at Work on Jenny LeClue – October 8, 2015

Now, here’s some big news. Thanks to Killscreen, Mografi will be showing footage of Jenny LeClue at the Tribeca Games Festival, which will run alongside the Tribeca Film Festival on April 28th and 29th in NYC.

In case you’re wondering…Jenny LeClue is a story focused exploration adventure game with memorable characters, a unique aesthetic, and an epic tangled mystery.

Jenny is a brilliant young detective, but nothing exciting happens in her small town of Arthurton, and she longs for real adventure. She gets more than she bargains for, when her mother is accused of murder. Jenny takes on the case of a lifetime and begins an unexpected, dangerous journey to uncover the truth. It’s also a coming-of-age meta-narrative about the blurred lines between right and wrong.

Okay. Here’s more news. Hero cards have been designed for the game as a quick, stylish way to introduce new characters. A UI renderer and new color-grading setup have been implemented. Water has been designed and animated. The backup system has been updated to use Unity’s Collaborate.

New/improved Jenny amimations have been created, including crawling, hunching, falling, and landing from a fall, with others to follow. Hotspot designs have been implemented for both regular and hidden items. Buoy smashing physics have been added. (Mografi explains: For a scene where you traverse the lake via ‘borrowed’ boat, we added the fun ability to smash into buoys. We also switched the boat movement to use physics so it’s a bit more boat-y when it moves.)

A playable teaser is available here for Windows, Max, and Linux, and here for iPhone and iPad.

Three different game packages — Good, Better or Best — can be pre-ordered; see this page for details.

Jenny LeClue is to be released sometime in 2017 for Linux, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and PS4.

As always, Mografi thanks for your support and patience on this epic journey.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
