Once upon a time — back in 2014, actually — a solo game project ended up on the shelf when solo game developer Steve Adamson’s life “got interesting for awhile.” He “moved to the UK, then moved to the Philippines, bought land, had a baby boy, built a house” and a bunch of other stuff.

But now, ladies and gents, he’s back to work on David Slade Mysteries. In the five-year interim, it seems a lot has changed for the better. There will be more polished art direction, new voice acting, richer audio and more.

This announcement is so hot-off-the-presses that there isn’t even a trailer. We’re assured that one will appear soon.

Rookie Homicide Detective David Slade has a dark and haunting past. In Chapter One, his sister dies under strange circumstances, leaving unanswered questions.

Five years later David is traveling to visit his parents, as he has each year since his sister’s death. But this time, he’s in an auto accident. Injured and alone, he looks for help at a nearby house. He never could have been ready for what happens next.

David Slade Mysteries will be comprised of a series of self-contained chapters that can be played in any order. Chapter One: Memories of the Past is to be released in late 2019 or Early 2020 on Windows, Mac and SteamOS + Linux. The game’s Steam page is located here  and the official site is located here.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
