Category: Upcoming Release
Written by: Karla Munger on February 12, 2019
Genre: Exploration Adventure
Published by: Mooneye Studios
Developed by: Mooneye Studios
Release Date: Spring 2019
Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One, VR (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift) and possibly Playstation VR

In Lost Ember, your primary character is that of a wolf. With the help of a spirit guide, you will discover the ruins of a mighty civilization.

You’ll find memories that will help you understand what caused such a downfall. You’ll also have the ability to possess any animal in the game world. This will enable you to explore the world from different perspectives and use each animal’s abilities to go where a wolf cannot.

Lost Ember‘s epic plot weaves folklore, myth and legend. You’ll experience densely wooded forests, barren deserts, gargantuan canyon valleys, lush rainforest canopies, archaic temples and colorful coral reefs.

The game will be released in Spring 2019 for Windows, PS4 and Xbox One. Although the Steam page  does not reflect VR support, the following appears on the Lost Ember website:

Yes, Lost Ember will be playable in VR! Although we never envisaged the game as a VR experience so many of you asked. We have already tested the game on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and we can tell you it’s awesome! Our main focus is on creating an amazing experience for all platforms, however, VR players will be able to switch to VR mode at any point in the game and dive deeper into our world. We are also looking at PlayStation VR and will let you know more about that in the future.

Should you want to pre-order, you can also accomplish this on the Lost Ember website.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
