Australia-based Memory of God is just one person: Coyan Cardenas. He’s the solo developer of The Stillness of the Wind and director of Lambic Studios. Memory of God seeks to create small, intense, deliberate experiences which push the boundaries of what games can be.

His first game, the critically-acclaimed Where The Goats Are , is available on Windows and Mac for free (or name your own price). The Stillness of the Wind is his first commercial release.

Indie label Fellow Traveller is …Passionate about the vast and untapped potential of games as a medium… As a publisher, “its mission is to seek out pioneering game developers working on unusual games with narrative at their core, help these developers bring their creations to the world and to connect them with players looking for something different.

In The Stillness of the Wind, you’ll become an aging farmer named Talma. Everyone else has moved to the city, leaving you to live a simple and solitary existence tending to your homestead and goats.

You’re free to develop your own routine as you maintain your farm and your critters. Spend your days any way you choose. You can make cheese from the milk of your goats, collect eggs, grow vegetables, cook meals and more. And you can barter for supplies with a travelling merchant — your only human contact — who brings letters from your family…letters that are increasingly disturbing.

Meditate on such heady concepts as life and loss of hope. Engage in quiet introspection as you pass what you believe may be your final days.

The Stillness of the Wind can be yours right now as follows:
Windows/Mac (Steam and itch.io)
Nintendo Switch
iOS

And finally, you can join discussions of the game on Discord.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
