There are no monsters or combat in Miasma Caves. Instead, you’ll hunt for treasure while braving natural environmental dangers.

Radiant Ridge is a small, peaceful village. Nearby caves are beset with Lethal Miasma.

Dragon girl and skilled treasure-hunter Lesath (that’s you) has more resistence to Miasma than anyone else in the village. You must enter the caves and search for treasure.

After each successful foray, you’ll return to Radiant Ridge, where earned gold can be used to upgrade the village, restock supplies or purchase treats from the inn.

The caves, which are procedurally-generated and fully destructible, also hold lore, humorous stories and precursor technology from lost civilizations. There are many secrets to be found. Knowledge will be your strength.

You slowly lose your health as you explore, and cave-ins, traps and pitfalls can inflict a lot of damage. If you fall, you drop all collected treasure. Fully depleted health won’t result in death; you’ll simply be revived empty-handed at the entrance to the cave you’ve been exploring.

Adam Michaan, founder, Windy Games: Exploration and discovery are the most exciting aspects in gaming to our team; Miasma Caves aims to bring that blissful feeling of randomized adventures into a full experience. By leveling up knowledge instead of strength and dealing with environmental dangers instead of monsters, we’re developing a new take on the popular roguelike genre.

Miasma Caves is available for Windows at a time-limited 15% discount starting today via Steam Early Access. Happy hunting!

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
