Daedalic Entertainment (State of Mind, Silence) intends to raise the adventure gaming bar with The Pillars of the Earth. The studio is adapting the 1,000 page Ken Follett novel — which has sold over 26 million copies — and is releasing it as a 2D interactive novel in three “books” for Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Each book will be comprised of seven chapters.
Book 1, From the Ashes is now available. Players will purchase a season pass and will automatically gain access to Books 2 and 3 as they become available.

In The Pillars of the Earth, you’ll be playing three protagonists as well as two extra playable characters. The game features over 200 hand-painted backgrounds depicting a faithful rendition of 12th century life, and offers meaningful, emotionally-engaging story choices that can influence the fates of its characters.
According to Daedalic, the game “is available now for $29.99 on PC or $39.99 on console and can be purchased and downloaded in your favorite online or local store.”
