We thought it would
be fun to review some of the casual games we currently have available
in our JA Casual Game Center. Needless to say, these games are
very addictive and while our enthusiastic reviews are, for the
most part short, the time spent playing these games is not. Once

Okay, folks, listen up. Buy MCF: Ravenhearst immediately or risk missing out on the Masterpiece Theater of hidden-object games. I mean it!

I’m not very good at these types of games, but Big Fish has come to the rescue with the ingenious Ravenhearst, the third game in the MCF series. It’s the first game of its kind that didn’t have me repeatedly falling on my face. I loved every minute of it.

That’s not to say that the game is just for hidden-object schlubs like me, though. Two modes of play are offered here. “Relaxed” gives players buckets of time in which to solve each level, and “Detective” is more formal with shorter time limits. Guess which one I picked?

The game’s engaging mystery is gradually revealed as one explores Ravenhearst Manor’s intricate rooms and grounds, locates sets of objects, then assembles jigsaw puzzle style pictures to uncover missing pages of the heroine’s diary. Ravenhearst’s suspenseful story held my interest throughout and kept me eager to discover what would happen next.

Many levels have locked rooms, access to which is achieved by solving decidedly quirky mini-puzzles. I loved these! Players can, however, choose to relinquish five minutes of their remaining time and unlock the doors right away, bypassing the puzzles.

Ravenhurst boasts effectively creepy music, eerie background sounds, gorgeous graphics and a little humor thrown in for good measure. It’s absolutely brilliant from start to finish.

So what are you waiting for, people? Get this game, and right now! I’m not gonna tell you again!!
