Chapter 5, Edanna – The Age of Nature

When you arrive in Edanna you see a big red flower. It’s called the Lens
Blossom. Why? Just zoom in on the flower and you’ll know why… Yep, the flower
has some sort of lens so you can look through and study the surroundings. Zoom
out and turn around.

Climb down the cave near the yellow light. Go down until you reach a tree
that looks like a huge corkscrew. Step on the tree and you will get a free ride
to the top. When you reached the top, look down to see how this plant is getting
its water. You’ll see a curled root floating in some sort of water basin.

The root hanging in the water

Turn to the right and you’ll see another Lens Blossom. Walk towards that Lens
Blossom. At that very moment a big bird is landing on her nest to feed her baby
bird. Zoom in on the Lens Blossom to get a closer look. Zoom out and step back
on the boulder next to the Corkscrew Plant.

Look around and walk towards the circular opening in the rock. Go through
that opening and go to the left. Make two more steps. Turn to the left and pinch
the big ball. Ain’t that watery…

Follow your path up. Go to the left around the peak and keep on walking
to the top until you are standing in front of some kind of palm. Look for the
roots and touch the flower in the middle of the palm.

Press the bud

Look at the cliffs at your right. At the left part you seem to see something.
Zoom in and you’ll discover a linking book to J’nanin. Now you know your way
back there. Don’t do anything with the book yet.

Turn around and walk towards the plant with the orange blossom. Zoom in and
you’ll see that this one doesn’t just have a lens but it also works like a
magnifying glass.

Look down through the lens. You’ll see a withered Corkscrew Plant. Next to
the plant you discover an empty water basin with a withered root hanging in.
Just above the empty basin, you’ll see a watery ball. Aim the sunlight on that
ball until it bursts open.

Exactly the right spot

The basin gets filled with water and the Corkscrew Plant comes alive. Zoom
out and walk back to the palm. Standing in front of the palm, turn to the right
and follow the path downstairs until you reach the fresh Corkscrew Plant. Step
on the plant and you’ll get transported all the way down.

Turn around and follow the path into the direction of the plants. Walk passed
the plants and you’ll see some purple glow in the distance. Walk towards that
purple glow and you’ll discover a ball filled with water and one fish. When you
study the fish in the ball you see how it electrocutes the roots of the plant.
Hey, doesn’t this remind you of the flytrap plant way back in the green
house!?!?

Turn to the left and head forwards. Climb down at the left of the vine. Turn
toward the purple glow and make one step forwards. Follow your path via the flat
purple rock and walk via the illuminated purple part.

You’ll now arrive in a green surrounding. Make one step forward. Look at the
right and you’ll see a shiny brown plant.

A little hard to find this one

Walk to the plant and pinch it between
the tentacles. This plant will also swell and will be filled with water and…
that good old electric fish.

Turn to the right and enter the yellow illuminated
passage. Pick up some
other missing pages for Saavedro’s journal. Walk until the end of the passage. Turn to
the right and follow your path across the plank. Walk via the purple rock at
your right around the corner.

It’s getting harder…

Go through the opening you see at your right. Keep on walking to the blue
part in front of you and at the left of the opening in the rock.

… and harder…

Make one more
step forward and move on along the green rock-face.

… and even more harder!

Turn to the right and go to
the illuminated section in the distance. When you enter that room, you’ll see a
big yellow fruit hanging from the ceiling. Pull the spiral that’s hanging from the
bottom of the plant.

Walk across the leaf and grab the vine. Don’t make the deadly mistake to
swing to the opposite side! In stead of that, turn around. You’ll see a platform
with something that looks a lot like a squee’s lair… Swing to that platform.

The lair turns out to be a trap to catch squees. There can only be one person
who sunk so far! Turn to the right and you’ll see the mechanism to control the
trap. Turn the handle. Walk to the bushes with the pink berries. Pick one berry
and when it falls on the ground, push it once more so it will moved to a more
appropriate spot. You will see what I mean by that later on…

Walk passed the control mechanism and enter the dark passage behind it. Turn
to the right and you’ll see that you’re back at the rock with the opening. Go
forward and pass the green rock again. Walk further until you see the coppercolored grip of the trap at your right.

Let’s hope the trap doesn’t squeeze it

When the squee is eating the berry, pull the grip of the trap. See what
happens! The trap comes down next to the squee (it’s good you moved that
berry…) and the squee darts off. It stops on the treestump and squeaks a few
times.

The moss in the treestump expands and breaks the stump. I wonder who placed
that rotten stump… Grab the vine again and now jump safely to the opposite
side. After your landing walk straight ahead and go all the way down via the
rocks that look like a tongue.

When you arrive at the very bottom you’ll see the big bird
caught by a huge
flytrap plant. Your goal is to set free this poor bird… reminding that flytrap
plants hate electric shock therapy. Turn to the right and
you’ll see a triangular opening in the rocks.

These parts should be played at night when it’s dark

Walk towards that opening, exit
through the opening and go to the left. You’ll now enter a yellow illuminated passage.

Turn to the right passed the curve and you’ll see another inflatable plant.
Walk to the plant and touch the center part. The plant swells, fills itself with
water and… with the electrical fish! Now the walls are illuminated you can see
another painting of Saavedro. Turn around and step on the path again.

Turn to the right a little and you’ll see the
thorny roots of the flytrap
plant. There are two stairs leading down. One at the left
and one at the right of the thorny roots

This time climb all the way down left from the
thorny roots. When you arrive
downstairs, make one step towards the U-shape opening in the rock.

Turn to the right a little and walk passed the bright green plant. Turn to
the right. Into the green shrubs, you can find another inflatable plant. I must
admit, it’s very hard to find, so look at the image to help you find it.

I bet you shouldn’t have found this one by yourself!

Click on
the plant to fill it with water and fish. Walk all the way back and up until you
are facing the thorny roots again. This time climb down at the right. Follow the path to the very far end.
Turn around and zoom in on the spotted flower.

The spotted flower

Look through
the lens and aim the light beam between the V-shape opening in the rock on the
white flower that’s standing nearby. Keep it that way!

Aimed between the V-shape opening

Zoom out and walk toward the flower you
just illuminated.

The illuminated orchid

Zoom in and look through the lens. In the distance you can
find a folded green leaf. Aim the light beam on the folded leaf and you’ll see
the leaf unfold. Keep the beam aimed on the leaf and zoom out.

The folded leaf

Go back upstairs and climb down the stairs at the left of the thorny roots.
When you are downstairs go the illuminated bowl with the fish. Step on the path
behind the bowl and the fish.

The path behind the crowded bowl

Make one step forward and walk down the path to your right. Keep on walking
straight ahead until you see two tiny vertical lines in the distance. Walk
toward those tiny lines and you’ll discover another projector. Push the button
and listen to the message. Turn around and step on the same path again. You can
hardly see it but you can find it when you are facing the two gaps in the rocks.

And you call this hard to find :-)???

Walk straight ahead until you can’t go further. Turn to the right and make
one step forward. Step on the green path at your right and keep on walking
straight ahead. Cross the unfolded leaf. Look to your right and step on the
treestump with the illuminated mushrooms. Walk straight ahead until you reach
the orange blossom. Zoom in on that blossom. Through the lens you’ll see that it
is aimed at the bowl with the fish. Also notice that you can’t move this lens. I
wonder who did this…

Walk behind the orange blossom and step on the brown ribbed path. Go all the
way up. When you can’t go further, you are standing near another blue/white orchid.
Zoom in and aim the lens on the orange blossom.

Correctly aimed

Go all the way back to the thorny roots and climb down the stairs at the
right. Walk to the end of the path and to the orchid nearby the opening in the
rock. Zoom in and aim the lens on the orchid at the right of the orchid on
which it’s aimed now.

Now the sunlight is send on to the bowl with the fish. The bowl bursts open
and the contents will be disposed into the water basin of the flytrap plant. The
fish starts eating from the roots and electrocutes the flytrap plant. The plant
sets free the big bird… Don’t forget to aim the orchid on the left orchid
again.

Go back upstairs and climb down the left stairs for the very last time. Go
back to the tree with the illuminated mushrooms. When you enter the tree, make three steps
and then turn around. Look around and you’ll see a hollow treestump with an
opening. You can see some light shining through the opening.

The opening with the light shining through

Turn to the right a little and climb into the
hollow treestump. After your first
step forward, turn around and find some other missing pages for Saavedro’s journal.
Turn around and follow your way up. Eventual you are facing an opening in the
rockface where you can’t go further. Turn to the right and make one more step.
Look around and you’ll see a vine. Grab the vine and use it on the opening in
the rock.

When you arrived at your new location, you can go two ways. You see
one path to the left and one staircase to the right. If you go to the right, you
will be transported up again and you can’t do anything else than using the vine again
to go down once more… So that won’t bring you any further. So stand at the
left of the stairs and head for the red/brown glimmer in the distance. Turn to
the left and enter the dark blue room.

Follow the path leading up. After four steps, turn to the right to see a
passage with lots of little white mushrooms. Ignore this passage for now. So
turn back to the right to continue your way up. Keep on walking until you reach
another Lens Orchid. Zoom in and aim the beam on the huge spherical
blue plant.
Make sure the beam is aimed at the stampers on top of the plant. By doing this, the
stampers are going up.

Stampers up…

Turn around and walk down the path until you reach the passage with the lots
of little white mushrooms. Because you follow the path in the opposite direction
now, you’ll find this passage at your right this time, right? Enter the
passage and make one step forward. Turn to the right and follow the path that
leads to the left via the two hanging strings with small white flowers. Keep on
walking until the end of the path where you’ll find another palm.

The resting palm

Click on the center of the palm which make the leaves unfold. Turn around and
follow the green path until you pass a light blue root. Turn to the right and
walk toward the spherical blue plant. Although the sunlight is blocked by the
leaves of the palm, the insects still are flying above the plant. Your goal
was to move the insects to the other spherical blue plant.

Look down and you’ll see some fly-funguses on the ground near the blue
plant. Walk to the biggest one of them and pinch it. It spreads such a horrible
smell that the insects are taking off to the other plant!

Phew! How it stinks around this place

Turn around and walk to the blue root. Enter the root by climbing into the
hole. Standing into the root, make one step forward, turn around and pick up
some other missing pages to Saavedro’s journal. Turn around again and keep on walking
until you can’t go any further. Climb up until you reach the tentacles of the
plant. Look down and touch one of the stems with your handy cursor…

Just before take off

The plant spreads a delicious smell. The big bird smells the
nice flavor and
takes the plant, including you, up to its nest. When you arrived into the nest
turn to the left and click on one of the brown stalks next to the nest. Off you
go and suddenly you are facing the Symbol of Nature. Look up and walk towards
the linking book. Open the book and click on the image inside the book to go
back to… J’nanin.

Standing in the observatory place the Symbol of Nature on the blue dish. When
the message is over, step down on the drawn out bridge. Zoom in on the linking
book and click on the image to go to…
