Larry Lovage is a student at Walnut Log Community College who wants to get on a dating TV show called Swingles. The hostess, Uma Yasmine, will not let him join until he proves his seductive wits by obtaining tokens of affection.

Sixteen college girls are available to him, and his aging uncle, Larry Laffer, offers brief advice and appears at a local bar. Larry also has to outsmart a sorority house and a fraternity house known as Dio, where they recite lines that are actually modified lyrics of Black Sabbath songs.

A brief subplot involves the college’s arena football team facing the Maiming Maggots. The team name is treated as a running gag, since it is obscured by objects and only appears as Flaming Fa-, before being revealed at the end as the Flaming Fantasticks.
