Empathy: A First-Person Adventure for Windows in Which You Must Save a Civilization – January 25, 2016

Can you restore a empty world’s lost balance by journeying through its past?

With a strong focus on storytelling and exploration, Empathy presents a world created from emotions and memories of those who once lived there. That which has been lost is the key to rebuilding this crumbling world.

Here, emotions appear as physical objects that hang in the air and wait for you to reach out and manipulate them. You are not only challenged to explore and gain an understanding of this surreal world, but to halt an impending apocalypse.

Anton Pustovoyt, lead developer, Pixel Night: “With Empathy we set out to seamlessly integrate environmental narrative storytelling into a first-person adventure game. You actively need to find, decipher and experience memories left behind by people long gone, in order to unlock the secrets and mysteries of this strange and monumental world that once was. As a player you’ll be led through a rabbit hole and end up more curious than Alice was.”

Pustovoyt continues: “We especially focused on building Empathy’s surreal world, creating multiple areas with a distinct look and feel to get lost in. We want our player to feel charmed, unsettled, intrigued, haunted by their own theories of what could’ve happened. Experiencing a beautiful and evocative environment that’s completely and utterly devoid of life is something we sought to highlight and, hopefully, accomplished with Empathy: Path of Whispers.”

Empathy: Path of Whispers is now available for Windows on Steam at a time-limited 20% discount ($15.99 USD).

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
