Kickstarter-Funded Wanderer Will Meander Your Way This September
Developer Red Cloak brings us a 2D, lo-res sci-fi cinematic platformer/adventure for Windows, Mac and Linux
Your name is Rook. You’re rudely awakened when the orbital prison facility in which you reside crashes on the ruins of an abandoned Earth.
After recruiting a group of other survivors including a hacker called Jin, you must struggle to stay alive, faced with prisoners who aren’t so friendly not to mention bizarre parasitic extra-dimensional creatures that haunt the planet.
At its core, Wanderer is a cinematic platformer. However, it’s enhanced with mechanics and ideas from other genres: old-school JRPGs, Bioware-style Western RPGs, classic point-and-click adventures and Telltale-style narrative experiences. This will make for a unique, story-driven adventure RPG with a distinctive visual aesthetic that merges lo-res pixel art characters with a hand-painted world.
Wanderer is being developed by just two people — Cris Ripamonti (Concept, Art, Design, Writing) and Serge Lages (Programming, Design) — collectively known as Red Cloak. The game is slated to be released in September 2016 for PC/Windows, Mac and Linux.
