"It’s kind of like…The Longest Journey meets Loom…with somewhat of a Psychonauts feel…and elements of Metroid and Mega Man!"

And now, the pitch:

From indie developer Bryan Powell/Conundrum Cove comes a point-and-click adventure that’s rather…er…unorthodox.

Young witch Piper is a natural with the mechanics of magic, but her ability to control the craft is still rather chaotic. Powerful wizards suspect she’ll mature into an evil witch, so they take all of Piper’s powers and seal them away from her. The big meanies.

Piper, along with her companion cat — and you, of course — must embark on a journey to defeat the wizards and regain her powers.

Along the way, you’ll help Piper solve puzzles, battle wizards and decide between two paths: Mercy and Malice. Defeating bosses will yield new spells, while an alchemy system will allow Piper to concoct recipes of her own.

Magic Lost will be non-linear and its puzzles, while challenging, will be organic and logical. Piper’s cat will be on hand to help if you get stuck.

The game will be released on PC/Windows, Mac and Linux at a date TBD. Meanwhile, a Kickstarter campaign with a base goal of $68,000 is in progress until November 2, 2015. Bryan, Piper, her cat and probably some other people would be most appreciative of your support.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
