Follow Foster, spirit of the sea and gentle being, as he arrives in America and lives completely isolated in the Shenandoah Valley for 100 years, after which he is found and recruited by the provincial militia.
From there, Foster embarks on strange journey spanning three wars and the entire eastern seaboard of North America. He sees and experiences many things: those once loyal to England become American rebels; dear friends turn to foes; mortal companions blossom and wither. He bears witness to the chain of events that would create the United States, and is left with revelations both inspiring and woeful.
This is not a story about a man who changes the world. It’s the story of a world that changes a man.
The current Kickstarter is Americana Dawn‘s second crowdfunder. The first was in May 2012, during which Bit Bonton raised close to $5,000 USD (base goal was $2,000 USD). The game was then created using a pre-built engine and many public assets. The result was short and experimental.
Americana Dawn is now being remade with a new cast, lore and purpose, a custom engine and all original assets. The base goal of the current Kickstarter campaign, which will run until December 23, 2014, is $70,000 USD. The game is also on Steam Greenlight.
The plan is to release Americana Dawn initially on Windows. Mac, Linux and PS4 will follow if stretch goals are met.
