Welcome to steampunk-style Paris in the late 19th century. The aftermath of the Great Revolution has offered all citizens a new start, regardless of social class.
You are Alfred Ethon, a young inventor of Gypsy descent who benefits from this change and becomes a symbol of success. But when a maid working for an impoverished Lord — a relic of the old French regime — is brutally murdered, the evidence points towards Alfred (you) as the murderer.
The story is set within two timeframes: the past, via flashbacks, and the present. Further, two modes of play are available: Standard and Story.
In Standard Mode, the outcome depends entirely on your creativity and ability to solve logical problems. You will suffer the consequences of your own actions. In Story Mode, your attorney will advise you as you progress along, commenting on your decisions and choices, preventing you from acting in a way that might prove to be harmful to your defense.
Bohemian Killing should appeal to fans of the Phoenix Wright series, interactive courtroom dramas and narrative-driven adventures.
The game will be released on PC, Mac and Linux, with possible iOS and Oculus Rift support. The Moonwalls have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $13,000 by January 5, 2015.
