The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy expands the world of the critically acclaimed comic book The Incredible Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy by Filipe Melo, Juan Cavia and Santiago R. Villa.

Resembling a B-class horror movie, the comic book has been praised for its twisted, bizarre and offbeat sense of humor, mixing werewolves, Nazis, the Vatican, zombies and other abominations with lots of hilarious references to timeless films and beloved video games.

The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy will dig deep into the graphic novel’s universe, with new, original stories. The game will consist of episodic but self-contained adventures, each presenting a new case.

For a long time, humans and supernatural beings have lived their lives in relative peace. This is all because of The Code, a set of rules that prevents the latter group from interfering with the lives of so-called normal people. Lisbon has become the new Casablanca of this day and age, where humans live their lives unaware of all the unusual guests. Unaware, of course, unless someone breaks The Code.

That’s where legendary occult detective Dog Mendonça and his investigation team come in. In the first episode, you’ll step into the shoes of team member Eurico, an ex-pizza delivery guy and unpaid apprentice who’s working on his first real case.

After Dog Mendonça  — who, BTW, happens to be a werewolf — is hired by a mysterious woman, he disappears. No one has heard or seen anything suspicious. No one knows where he is. He’s just vanished.

To unravel the mystery, you’ll have to delve into Lisbon’s world of the occult; a world that’s hidden in plain sight. In the process, you’ll interrogate witnesses and suspects, search for clues, solve puzzles to remove obstacles and probably break a couple of laws.

The other members of the investigation team are Pazuul, a 6,000-year-old demon trapped in the body of a prepubescent girl; and Gargoyle, who appears primarily as a head, because Dog thinks it’s funny to detach it from his body (which does grow back, eventually).

The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy is being developed for PC, Mac, Linux.

A Kickstarter campaign is in progress until November 7, 2014. If funding is successful, Okam Studio is looking to complete development and release the game in Q2 2015. Your backing would be appreciated!

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
