Welcome to the new Shadowgate.

This first-person adventure will expand the story, world and mythos of the original game.

“The last thing that you remember is standing before the wizard Lakmir as he gestured wildly and chanted in an archaic tongue. Now you find yourself staring at an entryway which lies at the edge of a forest.”

And so begins the legend of Shadowgate.

Features:

  • First-Person Adventuring: Utilize your inventory, spell book, mapping system and on-screen commands to complete your quest
  • Rooms: Nearly 100 beautifully illustrated rooms featuring both new and familiar locations, offering a new play experience
  • Puzzles: Lots of new and updated puzzles that seamlessly expand on the original game
  • Difficulty Levels: Three different difficulty levels that actually change the game play experience and puzzle structure
  • Commands: Intuitive command-based UI allows you to interact extensively with the environment (includes features like key binds, command locking/unlocking, minimize/maximize HUD, etc.)
  • Storytelling: Features dramatic cutscenes and all the same great storytelling you expect from a Shadowgate adventure
  • Cinematic Score: A full, digitally-orchestrated, dynamic soundtrack by composer Rich Douglas
  • 8-bit Score: A second retro soundtrack featuring Hiroyuki Masuno’s original NES composition
  • Soundscapes: A complete atmospheric and puzzle-based sound design
  • Achievements: Dozens of in-game achievements to find and unlock
  • Animations: Environmental and object-specific animations and particles bring each location to life
  • Platforms: Supports Windows, Mac, iOS and Android

The game will be released in early 2014. Help bring it to Greenlight!

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
