Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers Trailer, Screens, Info – March 20, 2013

In its swamps and alleys, New Orleans experiences an outbreak of ritual voodoo murders. Local police are baffled leaving only one man who’s up to solving the case: Gabriel Knight.

A French Quarter bookstore owner and struggling writer, Knight is also descended from a long line of shadow-hunting Schattenjägers.

His first adventure, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers®, was released in December 1993 by Sierra On-Line. Our hero quickly became a gaming sensation.

Twenty years later, Jane Jensen’s development studio Pinkerton Road has acquired the license for the Gabriel Knight IP from Activision. As a result, Gabriel Knight is making a comeback in the upcoming 20th Anniversary Edition of Sins of the Fathers.

“I’m thrilled to be back at work on Gabriel Knight and to bring this classic game to a new generation of players,” says Jensen. “It’s a designer’s dream to be able to enhance the game and bring in more New Orleans flavor than technical limitations allowed us to in 1993. It’s going to look and feel like a brand new title. But never fear, 100% of the original Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is here. I hope both existing fans and new players will love it.”

The original game’s 640×480 resolution pixel art will be replaced with high-res 3D graphics. Also, the soundtrack is being remastered and will include special edition content.

The plan is to release The 20th Anniversary Edition in mid-2014 for PC, Mac, iPad and Android.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
