Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac arrive on Shadow Island and are confronted by mysterious creatures as they search for three ancient tablets. The tablets are believed to hold the key to a dangerous power, and danger threatens from every corner.

Carnby, a supernatural detective, is investigating the death of his friend Charles Fiske, who was found dead off the island. His search leads him to Fred Johnson, who explains that Fiske had been looking for the tablets and asks Carnby to continue the investigation and recover them.

The game combines action and suspenseful adventure in a dark atmosphere where conventional rules do not apply. Carnby is armed with a flashlight and a pistol, and must find items and clues to survive and escape his nightmare.

It features detailed and realistic environments, a story influenced by H.P. Lovecraft, over 20 characters, and two different adventures, letting the player choose between Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac.
