Developer Mark Mayers has drawn inspiration for Desolus from astronomy, surrealism and mathematical art. With his background in computer science, Mark is creating the worlds of Desolus using procedural art with themes involving perfect geometry and symmetry. He is responsible for the game’s design, programming, art and audio.
Classically-trained pianist and composer Kyle Landry is responsible for the original soundtrack. His beautiful compositions are reminiscent of those created by Romantic and Impressionist Era composers like Fredric Chopin and Claude Debussy.
Development of Desolus for Windows started in 2014. It has since been completely rebuilt to support Oculus Rift as well. The game is currently in Alpha and will likely released sometime in 2017.
