In Ghost of a Tale, you’ll take on the role of Tilo – a mouse and minstral – who lives in a medieval world populated only by animals. You’ll become caught up in a dangerous journey.

Travel to an island that once served as an outpost for an Army of Rats. Discover that it’s now home to rats of the undead variety (and assorted other nasties). There are tales of a great treasure housed in the island’s tower. Your quest is to get there. Your path will be treacherous.

Fortunately for the diminutive Tilo, the game’s focus is on exploration and discovery, and the emphasis is on stealth and agility over combat. Tilo would be no match for the game’s considerably larger enemies.

Developer SeithCG in basically a one-person operation. His name is Lionel Gallat, formerly of Dreamworks (The Prince Of Egypt, The Road to Eldorado, Spirit, Sinbad, SharkTale) and Universal Studios (Despicable Me and The Lorax).

Sayeth Mr. Gallant: Ghost of a Tale was really an opportunity for me to put together everything that interests me from a technical, creative, and visual point of view. To create something that I knew for a fact that — and this is going to sound very silly to you probably — but I knew that if I didn’t do it, nobody would do it. If I didn’t create that, it would just never happen.

Ghost of a Tale is currently available for Windows on both Steam Early Access  and GOG Games in Development. A final release date is TBD.
