COLUMNAE: A Past Under Construction is the first game from Serbia-based Moonburnt Studio. It’s a point-and-click adventure in development for Windows, Mac and Linux.
The Earth has been left uninhabitable by an environmental catastrophe. When disaster was imminent, the wealthy settled in Deus, a “city in the clouds” built upon huge metal pillars called Columnae. Machina was built beneath these pillars to pump underground resources up to Deus.
Columnae is also a settlement for those unable to afford to live in Deus. Unwilling to cooperate with the anarcho–tribal society of The Cliffs, the society of Columnae is plagued by corruption, political manipulation, power-struggle and poverty.
COLUMNAE: A Past Under Construction is unique in that its eight chapters are not played in chronological order. This allows the player to affect not only the future but the past of the main character and the world. Depending on players’ choices of action within each chapter, yet–to–be–played chapters are placed in an appropriate “version” of the past or the future. This yields a great deal of replayability.
Moonburnt Studio is looking to raise at least €40,000 on Kickstarter by August 9, 2016. If you like what you see, please consider giving COLUMNAE: A Past Under Construction your backing.
