From the developer of Neverending Nightmares comes the new psychological horror game Devastated Dreams. It looks truly creepy, folks.
While Neverending Nightmares focuses on emotions, symbolism and powerlessness, the emphasis of Devastated Dreams will be its compelling, character-focused narrative. The game will take you deep into Filipino folklore, where terrifying monsters such as aswang reside. These creatures are like vampires and werewolves on steriods, and their favorite prey is children, both born and unborn.
I’ll leave it to you to see these creatures depicted on the Kickstarter page. They’re nassssty.
Angel, the protagonist, lives in the rural area of Aklan in Western Visayas in the Philippines; it’s a vulnerable rural area rumored to have the most aswang. They haunt Angel’s dreams as she sleeps.
Angel may or may not be pregnant. She may or may not already have a child. Does she have a family, or is she alone? You’ll discover a lot about her as you advance through her nightmares.
Infinitap Games is looking to raise $115,896 on Kickstarter. The campaign has 33 days to go (ending August 16th) and has already achieved 84% of its base goal, with some nice rewards for “early bird” backers.
Devastated Dreams will be released on Windows, Mac and Linux in 2016.
