House of Caravan, a horror adventure from indie developer Rosebud Games, takes place during a single night in a single location. According to Rosebud, the game will be a “novel take on the room escape genre…heavily influenced by the gothic fiction of Edgar Allan Poe and classic horror films…based also on the Death in Candlewood universe.”

The story takes place in the northeast US in the early 1900s. You’ll step into the shoes of Lester Bernard, a young boy who is kidnapped and taken for a long drive, after which he finds himself alone in a mansion with a sinister past.

You must explore the creepy mansion, solve different types of puzzles and interact with physical objects, including all-important light sources. As you do so, you’ll discover “the ghoulish story of the Caravans, which is told through a fragmented narrative.”

House of Caravan will be gorgeously rendered in 3D and offer full voice acting. There will be dozens of secrets to uncover.

Rosebud is a new developer populated by people who have worked on Silent Hill: Origins, F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and The Witcher. That’s some impressive talent.

The game will be released for PC, Mac and Linux in Spring 2015.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
