Following last week’s release of the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale has followed this up with today’s release of one of the most anticipated adventure game titles of the year, Game of Thrones – A Telltale Series. The first episode, titled “Iron from Ice,” tells the story of House Forrester who are loyal to the Starks of Winterfell. 

For those familiar with Telltales other series, including The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, and Tales from the Borderlands, gameplay is very much like an illustrated story, with limited environmental interaction and exploration, few if any puzzles, but where character choices impact the outcome. The success for Telltale has been driven by great writing and production value. If Telltale is true to its recent past, fans of George R.R. Martin and HBO’s Game of Thrones adaptation are likely in store to be more than satisfied with this latest Telltale series.

Note: Like last week’s release of Tales from the Borderlands, today’s Game of Thrones release has seen the Mac version temporarily delayed.
