This video introduces Malia Gedde, a deep, complex and well written character, and establishes a theme of fate that has always haunted Gabriel’s family.

The scene is often considered one of the most memorable in the series, setting the comic book style look of the original. It also took a more mature approach to storytelling in videogames during a time when the genre did not have as wide an audience as it does today.
