Beyond eyes Videos, Screens & Info – October 3, 2013

Beyond eyes takes place in the imaginative world of 10-year-old Rae as she ventures outside her familiar surroundings in search of Nani, her cat.

Rae isn’t like most other girls. As a toddler, she lost her eyesight in a fireworks accident and the experience left her traumatized. Fearing loud noises and public places, she hardly ever leaves her house. She prefers to spend her free time in her special garden where everything smells pleasant and all is nice.

Some people might feel sorry for Rae, as isolated as she is. But Rae herself is perfectly content with her life, especially after befriending a gorgeous full-figured stray feline she names Nani.

When Nani goes missing, Rae becomes worried and very lonely. Her parents try to convince her that Nani must have returned to his rightful owners and that it’s time to let go.

Taking no comfort in this advice, Rae decides to search for Nani. For the first time, she leaves her house on her own.

Sherida Halatoe, developer at tiger & squid: “I’m super excited to be part of Team17’s Partner Program because it gives me the opportunity to create the best version of Beyond eyes possible, allowing me complete creative freedom while having Team17’s experienced support network in place. One of the great things about Team17 is that they love and support games in all shapes and sizes, providing all the feedback and help that the individual partners might need.”

Debbie Bestwick, Team17’s Managing Director added, “Both myself and everyone at Team17 are ecstatic that tiger & squid have joined our Indie Partnership Program! Sherida is incredibly talented and Beyond eyes is as beautiful as it is touching. We can’t wait for you to play it.”

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
