This summer, the developer of Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! mobile games invites you to step into the shoes of Passepartout and join Phileas Fogg in a steampunk ’round-the-world adventure, 80 Days. Act as valet and companion to the venerable Mr. Fogg in a quest to circumnavigate the globe and win a hefty wager.

Travel across seven continents as your decisions weave a story written on the fly by the same flexible narrative system behind inkle’s acclaimed Sorcery! mobile games. Available transportation: steamer, express train, airship, hover-car, hydrofoil, gyrocopter, camel, horseback, or hot-air balloon.

Circling the globe will require strategy, cunning and luck. No two attempts will be the same, offering unlimited replay value.

A networked live feed will put a real-world twist on Verne’s iconic race. Observe the routes, discoveries, and disasters of other 80 Days players in real time as you compete to be the fastest around the globe. Every second will count.

The script, by interactive fiction author Meg Jayanth, will offer more than ten thousand choices as well as a cast of hundreds and more than 150 cities to explore.

Additionally, you’ll find yourself in both a Victorian past and an imagined steampunk future that will combine into a challenging and unexpected dynamic world.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
