Indie developer Thomas Dagon has changed the name of his upcoming horror game to The Eldritch Cases: Dagon. The game was formerly known as H.P. Lovecraft’s Dagon. An image of the new title appears above.

Thpmas thinks the new name will more accurately reflect the game’s ultimate content.

A third-person horror adventure, The Eldritch Cases: Dagon will be based on the Cthulhu universe of H.P. Lovecraft. As the sole survivor of an attack on the shore of the eerie island town of Innsmouth, players will find themselves in a hospital for the criminallly insane run by the evil Dr. West. They must escape, and explore Innsmouth to uncover the secret plans of the Esoteric Order of Dagon.

Players will be treated to many of the island’s lovely locations, such as morgues, graveyards, and Innsmouth’s infamous sewer system, and will interact with some colorful townsfolk as well.

The Eldritch Cases: Dagon will feature two playable characters and will be released for Windows, Mac and Linux, initially in German and English.

Thomas has also announced that some very major news will follow soon, so stay tuned…

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
