News: Silence: The Whispered World II Announced – December 12, 2013

Daedalic Entertainment aims to make Silence – The Whispered World 2 much more than a sequel.

According to Ulrich Wanitschke, Designer of the upcoming point-and-click adventure: “One of the most important motivations for creating Silence – The Whispered World 2 is to pursue news ways of adventure game design, and explore new possibilities modern adventure gaming offers. It is our goal to implement a more dynamic progress of storytelling and create a fluent game experience.

“Puzzles are designed to support the overall storyline, and carry it forward. To accomplish this, we are implementing new ways of puzzle design and use new game mechanics: We will, for example, be introducing new and easy-to-learn one-click controls, which adjust to the current gameplay situation, allowing players to understand puzzles and situations more intuitively.

“Furthermore, we won’t be using inventory-based puzzles and an item-inventory at all. Solutions to our puzzles will arise from each specific situation in the game itself.”

Look for Silence – The Whispered World 2 for PC and Mac to arrive in early 2015.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
