Stasis delves into the struggle between good and evil while delivering a fun and challenging adventure experience and an epically engaging story.

The world of Stasis harkens back to sci-fi classics such as Alien, Event Horizon and Sunshine. It is set in a time of blurred morality, where corporate pursuit of profit outweighs the rights of the few.

In this dystopian future, John Maracheck awakes from stasis on the Groomlake, a seemingly derelict spacecraft.

This repurposed mining ship, conveniently outside of the jurisdictional influence of Earth, is in a decaying orbit around the gas giant Neptune.

The Groomlake is operated by Cayne Corporation, a trillion dollar multinational company that has, for decades, played a pivotal role in human technological, medical and scientific advancement. This conglomerate is behind a secret platform for horrific experimentation and illicit research that’s onboard the Groomlake.

John is in tremendous pain, his wife and daughter are missing and time is running out as the Groomlake plunges further into the swirling blue methane clouds.

The game’s graphics are created from highly detailed, two-dimensional artwork drawn from an isometric view point.

Inspired by the adventure game Sanitarium and the art of Crusader No Remorse; Stasis has a unique visual aesthetic that brings this horrifying tale to life.

Kickstarter and Greenlight campaigns are in progress. An alpha demo is available from the game’s official website.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
