Halloween is the perfect time for Konami to update fans on some key elements of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

To that end, a new trailer called Dracula’s Vengeance has been released. It focuses on the vampire’s role as the game’s anti-hero, charged with doing battle with Satan himself.

Konami is making exclusive special editions and collectible content available with pre-orders, including a Dracula’s Tomb Premium Edition and an alternative steelbook edition.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is the sequel to 2010’s hugely acclaimed resurrection of the vampiric series. It picks up where the first game shockingly concludes, with Dracula in modern times weakened and yearning for release from his immortal bonds.

The world of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 breaks new ground for the series, offering for the first time a truly open play area, which can be freely explored. Despite its modern setting, the game’s city shows a Gothic legacy that harks back to Dracula’s past, and is inhabited by a varied menagerie of Satan’s hordes. Players can freely wander the city, returning to previously explored areas as they accrue new abilities, while an all-new fully moveable camera allows users to pan around as they explore, highlighting the wonderful art direction for which the series is famous.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 marks the conclusion of KONAMI and MercurySteam’s epic tale of evil and redemption. It will be released for PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® and Windows PC in the UK on February 28, 2014.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
