Nerd Monkeys announced today that they will be releasing their first videogame later this year on December 5, 2013 with Detective Case and Clown Bot in: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon. This point-and-click adventure game will be available for the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms.

 

Murder in the Hotel Lisbon’s story is that a strange murder has happened in the titular Hotel Lisbon, where a man has committed suicide with 14 stabs to the back while at the same time he was drinking his coffee. With such a confusing case, Policeman Garcia had no choice but to bring in the detective duo Detective Case and his partner Clown Bot. Their reputation precedes them as being the worst detectives, with Case being rough and abrasive with witnesses, and Clown Bot hoping to kick his fright of children to become a circus clown.

 

The graphics are pulled from classic pixel art of the 80’s and 90’s adventure game, running natively 256×192, the same resolution seen on the old ZX Spectrum 48k and even the Nintendo DS.

 

Currently those that pre-order Murder in the Hotel Lisbon will be able to get it at a 20% discount until launch day. Check out the international trailer below:
