Following EVE‘s latest and most successful expansions Retribution and Odyssey, Rubicon builds upon ten years of constant subscriber growth.

In EVE Online: Rubicon, the scales of intergalactic power will shift irrevocably to players, the immortal capsuleers. It expands the unmatched autonomy that EVE’s pilots have over their massive game universe at the expense of its four main factions and gives them a greater arsenal with which to build up and tear down the alliances within.

Players are empowered to wage guerilla-style warfare, raid opponents’ space and erode industrial power from deep behind enemy lines. New quick-strike options, focused on individual and small fleet activity, offer a powerful war tactic and a fresh style of victory in the game’s “sandbox” universe.

Players can also look for a new set of mobile, player-owned structures for both solo and group use, accentuating and diversifying pilots’ gameplay.

Continuing where Odyssey leaves off, Rubicon offers new exploration content and a new line of versatile faction ships perfect for navigating and infiltrating the nearly 8,000 solar systems of the EVE Universe.

Further, the Marauder, Electronic Attack Frigate, Interceptor and Interdictor class hulls head back to the shipyards for re-engineering. Novice players will be helped by new certificate and ship identification systems, which will also provide veteran players with a greater sense of what to accomplish next.

“Twenty expansions in ten years is an amazing milestone built on the shoulders of our legendary player community,” said Andie Nordgren, senior producer of EVE Online. “With Rubicon we are beginning an ambitious journey for the next several expansions of EVE that will end up with players taking control of the most potent technologies in the universe and controlling space on an unprecedented scale. Their insatiable desire for impact and adventure fuels both this vision and our passion for making the largest science fiction game universe.”

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
