Hamburg, July 3, 2013. In honor of Independence Day tomorrow, InnoGames will host a new event for its online role-playing game The West. As a wild-frontier game taking place in the young United States of America, The West has to have a fourth of July celebration – and it’s the player’s job to set everything up for the event. The guests expect fireworks, lots of Food, and the Star-Spangled Banner waving in the wind.

On the celebration site, players can engage in four tasks to prepare everything for the feast. Completing the tasks then results in various rewards. Players have the option to vary their chances on a win by choosing several tasks. Furthermore, all players participate in a world ranking. Reaching certain levels in the ranking secures a special item set. An even rarer, unique set can be won by making first place.

The West is a role-playing browser game set in the Wild Frontier. Players are placed on a hunt for adventure, gold and fortune. Cowboys and cowgirls partake in interesting and exciting stories, help settlers and collect bounties.

With about 100 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world’s leading developers and publishers of online games. In addition to The West, the Hamburg-based company has scored major successes with games such as Tribal Wars, Forge of Empires and Grepolis.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
