The House of Da Vinci Walkthrough

The House of Da Vinci is Blue Brain Games’ first-person mechanical puzzler in the tradition of The Room. Florence, 1506: Leonardo has vanished, and his apprentice searches the master’s house, workshop and secret rooms, armed with two of his inventions, the Oculi Infinitum that reveals hidden mechanisms and the Oculi Tempus that looks into the past. This walkthrough covers all seven chapters and the five drawing achievements.

How the game plays

Everything is done with the mouse. The menu opens from the X in the top right corner. The inventory sits on the left of the screen and is always visible; Leonardo’s inventions sit on the right and are pulled up or down to activate. Progress saves automatically on exit. Most actions are: double-click to zoom in, right-click to zoom out, hold and drag to turn, slide or pull.

Prologue: the street

The tutorial walks you through the controls. Turn to the guard on the right, double-click him, then the scroll in his hand. Take the SCROLL, click it in the inventory, drag the ribbon right to break the seal, drag up to unroll and read Leonardo’s letter. Zoom out with the top right icon.

Reach Leonardo’s library. Right-click away from the guard, double-click the door on the left, then the door bell to its right. Drag the top of the bell anticlockwise to seat its slot on the bracket bar. Drag the lower part left to extend the chain, pull the chain down to ring. Double-click the stand that drops and take the KEY PART. Right-click out, double-click the letterbox below the bell, drag its lid right, and take the second KEY PART. Click the first part, marked with a plus, to bring it to the centre, click the second to bring it alongside, drag left to join them, drag up to screw the KEY together. Zoom out, double-click the rectangular plate on the front of the box, drag it left to expose the keyhole, drag the key onto it and turn left. Step back, drag the door of the box right, double-click inside and take the OCULI INFINITUM, Leonardo’s lens, which goes to the right of the screen. Zoom out and drag the lens up: it shows you the inside of the door lock. Drag each of the three gears so its slot sits on the pentagonal axle in the centre. The door opens.

The guard points right: the tower flares emerald, explodes, and a man with mechanical wings falls behind the master’s house. Open the door, follow the corridor and stairs, turn the handle, go in.

Chapter 1: the library

Zoom in on the lamp stand in the centre. Break the seal on the scroll on its shelf for the SCROLL SEAL, unroll and read. Find the secret passage.

The bust

Look right, climb the stepladder and take the drawing from the shelf: achievement, Printing Press. Back to the centre, look left, zoom on the warrior’s bust. Slide the cover on the plinth aside for a recess. Click the seal to bring it up, turn its inner part to extend three petals, set the THREE-POINTED SEAL in the recess and turn anticlockwise. The bust’s eyes open; press each. The helmet lifts; slide it back for a puzzle: turn the centre ring with its slot, slide the coloured stone plates into it and carry them round to the outer slot with the matching colour. A drawer handle appears under the bust; pull it, take the GLOVE, which goes onto your right hand with a socket for the lens.

Zoom on the inside of the raised helmet and look at the gold plate through the lens (drag it up). Lower the gears, turn them to part the doors at the bottom, and take the PRECIOUS-WOOD PATTERN and the PIECE OF WIRE. Two right-clicks out, look at the casket under the bust. Zoom on its lower left, slide the plate aside, fit the wire and open the drawer for a PIECE OF WOODEN PATTERN. Zoom on the plinth where the drawer was, bottom left corner: lay the piece in the empty place, slide the pieces to the centre. A panel drops with a screw holder; turn it and take the COPPER SCREW.

The lamp stand

Zoom on the stand’s shelf. Turn the wood pattern over in the inventory, set the screw against its back, turn it: a WOODEN ROSE. Set it in the slot. Panels open on all four sides and you are taken to the start of the puzzle. Drag the rose along the grooves as they open, up to the top: up, right, up five, left two, up, right, up. Second panel: move the squares along their guide wires (not the one the rose is on) to build a road to the bottom. Rose down; the two plates of the second row right, rose to the third row; the two plates of the fourth row left; rose down, left, down one; next row’s plate left, rose into the hole. Third panel adds turnable circles with grooves: rose up two rows; turn the first-row circle and the third-row circle; rose up-right, down two, left two; rose up four rows, turn the circle on the right; rose to the right column and up one; turn the top circle, rose into the hole. Fourth panel uses everything: both top plates right; rose down one; turn the bottom circle, rose right, down, left; turn the right circle, rose right and down two; turn the left circle; rose left two, up one; turn the right and bottom circles; the plate second from bottom to the centre column; rose right and down two; turn the bottom circle, rose down and left; turn the right and bottom circles, rose into the hole. The rose opens and gives a SMALL KEY. (Tip from a reader: with the Oculi Infinitum on, the column shows a diagram of where to move and turn.) The stand sinks into the floor, leaving a polygonal recess on top.

At the bust, top of the casket: insert the small key, turn anticlockwise, take the ORNATE SEAL. Extend its top in the inventory for the FITTED PAINTED SEAL, set it in the recess on the stand and turn. Crystals appear: turn them so the beam enters the wide lens. The top closes and a beam points at the bookshelf.

The bookshelf and the passage

Take the LEATHER-BOUND BOOK, turn it spine-on in the inventory, part the spine and read: Leonardo’s OCULI TEMPUS, which looks into the past. Take it; it fits the glove. Step back and activate the Tempus (drag down). Spots show on the floor: zoom, trace the polygon outline (randomised) to start the time machine, and scrub the slider to see what Leonardo pressed to open the door. Switch off, press that ornament on the shelf upright, push the shelf and leave. A figure watches from the balcony.

Chapter 2: the workshop

Read the message on the table. Examine Leonardo’s works.

The catapult

Look at the front of the catapult model; note the missing shield on the left side. Zoom on the top. Turn the soldier figures to face front, take the WOODEN WHEEL from the hands of the one that rises, turn the two small levers until the banners are at their extremes. Banners rise and a gear slides out of the side. At the rear left, fit the wheel to the shaft and turn anticlockwise: a projectile rolls into the cradle. At the rear right, open the compartment for the SMALL METAL PART and pull the lever: the burning shot lights the lantern over the dais.

The globe

Step towards the globe, look left, take the drawing from the shelf: achievement, Milling Machine. Zoom on the globe’s top and turn the segments to restore the diamond pattern; take the SUN-SHAPED METAL OBJECT, turn it over, fit the small metal part and turn it in its slots for the SUN KEY. On the sphere’s side, open the shutters, turn the rings to form the keyhole, insert the sun key and turn. Open the doors fully: a star map with two rings above it, one shuttered. Look through the open ring with the Infinitum: a dial, and you need information.

At the bureau in the back, read the scroll on the right: a mechanical game built into the globe. Use the Tempus on the burnt paper in the left corner, trace the polygon, scrub back to before it burned and read. Look at the bureau’s support, lift the lid and take the UNUSUAL KEY; turn the plate in its handle for the FITTED UNUSUAL KEY. Back at the sphere, Infinitum on, dial TERRA in the top ring. A segment shifts and two more shuttered rings appear. Lower ring: slide the flower-shaped runner out for the FLOWER LEVER, fit it in the slot on the rim, run it along the groove to open the shutters, look through with the Infinitum and dial IGNIS. Left ring: open with its runner, dial LAPIS. Top ring: open with the lever on its side, dial SIDUS. A groove now crosses the map; insert the small key at its top and turn clockwise. The key runs the groove and the top of the sphere opens.

Open the lid, zoom on the game, read the message below: a strategy game. Always attack the weaker army. Move the rook-shaped piece right to take the second rook’s fortress (14); the territory turns red. Move the same rook up to the third (29). With the third rook take 32. Take the neighbours, 19 and 38, then the 77 fortress. Italy is won and a hiding place opens at the top of the map: take the PATTERNED WOODEN DEVICE. At the bureau, slide the inkwell left, zoom on the groove, run the slider right; part the shutters on the desk centre for an eight-pointed star. Set the device in its centre, turn it, extend the rays; a stand rises with the TOWER MODEL. Back at the game, set the tower on the 351 point where the device came from. New enemy fortresses; read the new message on the drum. From Italy, in order of strength: 20, 28, 30, 47, 58. New towers; read the drum. Conquer: 100, 123, 46, 143, 34, 300, 55, 351, 512, 790. A ring rises over the map: open its shutters, look through with the Infinitum, turn the three discs and take the SMALL SHIELD from the drawer. The globe closes.

The catapult again

Hang the shield on the catapult’s left side and slide it down. From the compartment take the SMALL KEY off the wall and part the plates for the CARVED HANDLE. On the right side, insert the small key, turn clockwise, take the BLUE CRYSTAL. Set it in the socketed device on the table, bottom right. A Tower of Hanoi: move the carved plates from the left post to the top post via the right, never a larger on a smaller. Fit the carved handle in the drum that turns. A stand with two drums slides up the groove. Infinitum on, turn the handle, watch the drums and line up the tower image. Zoom on the handle at the rear left of the catapult, wind the flywheel to load, turn the lever on the right: the shot lights the hearth ahead on the right.

The model

At the screen, pull the cord to open the canopy. In the base of the tower model take the TETRAHEDRON; fit it in the triangular hole and open the wall. A figure runs down a chute and a puzzle opens low on the front. Take the GROOVED DISC from the inside of the opened wall and set it in the puzzle’s recess. Put the Roman-numeral plates under their painted numbers using the turning disc: plates 2 and 3 onto the disc; plate 1 right under 1; plate 2 from the disc under 4, plate 1 onto the disc; plate 3 under 2, plate 4 onto the disc; plate 3 under 3, plate 2 under 1; plate 4 from the disc under 4; plate 2 under 2, plate 1 from the disc under 1. Take the HEXAHEDRON, fit it in its hole, open the wall, and a second puzzle opens below. Press the button under the wall, take the DEEP-GROOVED DISC, set it in. Same puzzle, but the disc holds two plates in a row: plates 4 then 1 onto the disc; plate 1 under 1; plate 2 onto the disc; plate 3 under 3, plate 2 from the disc under 2; plate 4 under 4. Open the clasps on the stand, take the THREE-PART THREADED OBJECT, screw it together for the SPHERE, set it in its recess. Open the wall, turn the lowered figure 90 degrees, turn the clamps, take the SINGLE-GROOVE METAL DISC, close the wall, set the disc in the puzzle. Plate 1 under 1; plate 3 onto the disc and under 2; plate 2 onto the disc and under 4; plate 4 onto the disc, plate 1 to the bottom; plate 3 down, opposite the loading slot; plate 2 under 1, plate 4 from the disc under 2; plate 3 onto the disc, under 4; plate 2 onto the disc, plate 4 opposite the slot; turn the disc, plate 2 under 1, plate 3 under 2; plate 4 onto the disc, under 4; plates 3 and 2 left into place, plate 1 up under 1. Open the stand, take the SPECIAL GEOMETRIC OBJECT, open its catches, fold the DODECAHEDRON. On the model’s left wall, press the button, turn the runner: a hexagonal hole opens on top. Place the dodecahedron, open the lid, look down, turn the fasteners, look at the opposite wall, pull the drawer, take the CROSSHEAD WRENCH. Use it on the clamp bolt above, anticlockwise, open the lid, take the PATTERNED GEOMETRIC OBJECT, fold the OCTAHEDRON, set it in its hole top right. Close the lid; at the bottom take the METAL RAM’S HEAD and the LARGE GEAR.

At the catapult’s lower front, set the ram’s head in the shaft hole, turn clockwise, take the PATTERNED METAL HANDLE. Back at the model, fit the handle in the gear hole above, turn clockwise. At the base of the house model that slides out, turn the ring for a SMALL KEY; use it on the keyhole in the turret wall, anticlockwise. Tempus on the turrets, trace, scrub to find the turret positions that open the roof. Off, turn the turrets, slide the roof out. Zoom on the far wall, slider left, lower the pin, take the FOLDING KNIFE, open it. On the house’s left side, saw the rope with the knife, open the lid, fit the large gear. Three drums spin; a click stops each briefly. Stop all three so the object inside can be taken: the SILVER HANDLE WITH A DOVE. Fit it in the hole, turn clockwise, take the HEXAGONAL BLOCK; turn its lower part, pull the hook up, for the HEXAGONAL WEIGHT. At the little gate in the far right corner, hang the weight on the hook in the right post; the gate opens. Infinitum on, take the WROUGHT METAL PATTERN from behind the curtains.

Set it on the catapult’s right side. Infinitum on, look at the tabletop right of the catapult: a pupil with an arrow. Turn the handle to aim the catapult so the tuned pattern on the far wall fills the sight. Off, load at the flywheel, drop the lever at the rear right. Go right, behind the curtains.

The projector

Look at the battle model through the Infinitum. Move the image with the wheels left and right and set the timing slider at the back so the lines match the figures on the field. Enter the door that opens, go to the far wall, read the message on the day-and-night pedestal. Follow the signs. Tempus on the picture, trace, scrub until picture parts appear in the centre; turn them to rebuild Leonardo’s drawing. Zoom on the base of the bowl that rises, turn the rings to build the channel, extend the fasteners, turn the bowl. The pedestal parts and a passage opens. Turn the lever on the lamp left of the opening; a torch lights. Take it; a noise behind, nothing there, and the torch is in your gloved hand. Down to the garden.

Chapter 3: the master’s garden

Two statues flank the door. In the left one’s hands, take the METAL PART from the hole, turn the two fastening levers and take the SCYTHE HANDLE; turn its grip for the ASSEMBLED HANDLE. At the foot of the door, pull the ornament down, part the shutters in the niche, take the FOLDING WOODEN HANDLE; combine with the metal part for a SCREWDRIVER. Unscrew the scythe blade in the left statue’s hands: it drops, and from the top of its handle take the STRANGE KEY; turn its head parts for the FINISHED KEY. Right statue: insert it in the top of the hourglass in its right hand, turn, part the halves, take the LETTERED CYLINDER. Look at its clenched left hand through the Infinitum: MORS. At the left statue’s base, set the cylinder in the niche and dial MORS: Nomen Illi Mors, its name is Death, and the face becomes a skull. Press the buttons in the hiding place and take the LEVER. Zoom on the skull under the left statue’s hood, note the numbering of the squares, pull the jaw down, take the CARVED HANDLE. At the door, turn the ring over the central disc to expose a handle hole, insert the assembled handle, turn anticlockwise, take the WOODEN ROD from the niche. Press the step squares in the skull’s order; a step sinks and a mechanism shows. Fit the carved handle, turn, open the hatch. Fit the lever and rod, lower the two clamps on the right onto the rod, turn the lever; a stand slides from the right statue’s base with the PATTERNED DISC. Set it in the door niche, Infinitum on, turn the rings to pair identical figures in the rays. Go in.

Chapter 4: the secret room

Take the SWORD from the mechanical knight in the chair. Through the arch on the left, insert the sword in the sarcophagus lid’s keyhole and turn; a box slides out. Two hotspots on its left and right walls pull a drawer: take the CLOCKWORK; part the section walls for the CROSS TOOL. Left wall of the box: insert the cross, anticlockwise, take the FOLDED KEY from the stand above. Right wall: open the shutter, unfold the key, insert, anticlockwise, and take the METAL WOLF’S HEAD from under the lid. In the wolf’s niche, solve the sliding pipe puzzle and take the STRANGE METAL OBJECT. The box sinks. At the lid’s right corner, set the wolf’s head, slide it left with its plate, move the shutter below, push the bar up, take the ODD-SHAPED OBJECT; turn its centre for the COPPER CROSS. Back with the knight: extend the strange object’s parts for the METAL TOOL WITH STOPS, set it in the knight’s chest, anticlockwise. Inside, take the WOODEN BASE WITH FLINT AND STEEL; fit the clockwork, pull up, for the WIND-UP LIGHTER. In the next room, left of the sarcophagus, the portrait over the fire grate: from the frame’s left corner slide the ornament, take the MECHANISM PART. Set it in the lid’s right corner niche, turn, take the GEAR. Fit the gear in the grate’s slot, turn, unhook the left side, open the grate. Double-click to the lighter body on the hearth floor, fit the wind-up lighter, close the lid, slide the hay right, click three times to light the fire. Under the mantel, at the fan, take the SMALL WOODEN WHEEL; turn its parts for the WOODEN WINDLASS. Open the lighter body and take back the WIND-UP MECHANISM. At the knight’s chest, fit the windlass on the axle, lift the left lever, close him up: he stands. Press the button on the chair’s right armrest and take the TRIANGULAR-SHAFT LEVER from the seat.

Right of the sarcophagus, the lift regulator: fit the lever, pull up. One cage on the lid rises. Left side wall of the sarcophagus, Infinitum on: turn the flywheel to seat the top-left corner of the pipe run, turn the lever on the left to seat the next and advance the number, repeat until every corner is placed. Lever to the far right. At the turret that rises, insert the cross tool, open the side, take the COPPER CYLINDER; inside the door, slide the latch left, open the inner door, move the clamp at its foot, close it and take the GEAR ON A SHAFT. Pull the cylinder’s axle up and turn for the OCTAGONAL-SHAFT LEVER; fit it to the regulator, pull up: the second cage rises.

Lid, right side: turn the clamps, rebuild the picture, turn the centre disc; a turret rises. Infinitum on its side: an arrow and III. Set the drums bottom to top II, III, V, VIII, each the sum of the previous two. Pull out the lower part, take the DA VINCI MODEL TOOL, insert it in the top slot, take the HEXAGONAL METAL OBJECT, work it for the STAR MEDALLION, set it in the polygonal hole, run it down the guide, flip the top, take the WOODEN CYLINDER, make the HANDLE, fit it to the right side of the lid and turn until a cube emerges. On its side, slide the lettered tiles along the grooves: A, B, C on the spaces numbered 1, 2, 3, the rest in alphabetical order. Part of the cube turns to show a chain drive: fit the gear on a shaft. Turn the clamps, work the levers, take the EMPTY TEST TUBE and, from the door, the FOUR-POINTED MEDALLION. Below, slide the runner right and along the mosaic guides to form the picture. The cube sinks; at the right side wall, turn the clamps, slide the tiles to their marked points, take the RINGED METAL CYLINDER.

Step to the chemical vessels and pump tank by the left wall; look left and back, take the drawing from the shelf: achievement, Viola Organista. At the tank, read the message; on the panel of coloured circle segments, set the four-pointed medallion in the second circle from the bottom and turn the segments by colour. Liquid flows. In the drawer that opens, read the warning, take the VALVE, slide the runner in its floor; from the second drawer take the WEIGHT-SHAPED TOOL. At the tap bottom right, set the FLASK, open the lid with the lever, fit the valve, Tempus on it, trace, and set the valve petals as seen in the past. Carry the full flask to the right tap; it fills the tank above. Work the hand pump, open the tank door, open the lighter body inside, fit the wind-up mechanism, light. From the stand take the DECORATIVE HEAD; combine with the ringed cylinder for the SQUARE-SHAFT LEVER; at the regulator, pull: the third cage rises.

On the lid press the rectangular button, and quickly take the MODEL ROOF from the hiding place in the right corner; press the button in its wall. A cathedral model rises. At the knight’s helmet: extend the weight tool’s petals to match the recess, insert, turn, look under the visor, turn the rings, Infinitum on, turn the drums to form the picture, take the SPECIAL KEY. At his left hip, open the lid, insert the key, anticlockwise, take the LARGE LENS ON A LONG POLE; turn the pole for the LENS ON A TRIPOD. Set it in the slot before the fire, Infinitum on, turn the lens disc to form the picture: the beam goes to the cathedral. On the model’s right side, slide part of it: the interior rises. Front: turn the central figure, take the SPAN MODEL; right side, fit it, open the door under the stairs, take the MEDALLION, set it in the empty slot on top, turn the sections to build a channel, run the S piece to the slot on the right. Rear top, left corner: slide the red plate up, take the SCEPTRE-LIKE OBJECT, part its top for the LENS ON A LONG POLE; slide the runner it hid left, take the TOWER PART from the niche, lower the runner inside. The interior sinks. Set the lens on the pole in the stand at the rear; screw MODEL ROOF and TOWER PART together for the TOWER MODEL and screw it into the front right platform. Lower the rear lens stand and turn it to catch the fireplace beam into the lens system (check the fireplace lens if it misses). Left side: press the elements over the arches 5, 6, 4, 1, 2, 3. The central tower rises: turn its top block, open the block below, turn the wheel inside anticlockwise, open the bottom, take the WOODEN HANDLE, pull the weights down, take the STRANGE STOP MECHANISM, read the secret message, “Abbey Tower”. Left, the corner mechanism: fit the handle; on the wall drum fit the stop mechanism and turn it to show III, XX, III, joining the red lines in the numerals. A ball rolls out onto the lift; turn the handle to raise it; it runs the channel round the walls into the counterweight and the exit opens.

Chapter 5: the war machine

At the table in the far right corner take the CUBE and read the crumpled threat to Leonardo. Zoom on the carvings on the tabletop’s brace, then the panel in the corner: roll the ball along the groove into the right pocket (lever below resets), take the GOLD PIECE WITH EMERALD. At the structure in the centre, Infinitum on the door panel: free every pin from the stop clips on the left and the top and bottom clips on the right. Open, step back, one step forward, note the drawing on the surface. At the small table by the left wall take the METAL CROSS; at the corner table, round the right, fit it in the slot, pull down, take the SMALL WHEEL. At the window on the right fit the wheel on the axle, turn clockwise, open the shutters. At the gates on the left, look right at the barrel and take the drawing: achievement, Scythed Chariot. Turn the windlasses to set the right shields in the wall windows per the clues: the first windlass moves windows 1 and 3, the second 1 and 2, the third 4 and 5, the fourth 5 and 3; window 3 moves at half speed. Set windows 2 and 4 first, then alternate the first and fourth windlasses for the rest. Through the door: in the right niche move the rods, open the box, take the WOODEN HANDLE. Infinitum on the gate lock, press the brick marked with a cross, open. On the chest lock turn the wheels, right then left, to bring the keyhole to the centre window; open the cube in the inventory for the SMALL KEY, insert, anticlockwise, take the DAGGER; turn the ring on its hilt for the GOLD PIECE WITH RUBY. Inside the lid, move the squares off the centre line, open the doors, take the METAL LEVER. Back at the small table: turn wheel 1 to a two-colour pattern, set the two gold pieces in the plates, turn the left grille west and the right east, press the levers, pull the drawer, take the METAL KNOB; combine with the wooden handle for the HEAVY-KNOBBED LEVER. Fit it in the machine’s open door mechanism, turn, part the hatch, climb in.

Read the note on the post. At the cannon, use the handle on the screws at the beam and turn: balls roll into the trough. Load powder, then ball, turn the barrel with the handle. Aim at a vessel with the height lever on chains, fire with the second lever; reload and break the other two. A platform with a chest descends outside the window. Climb out, haul the chest in, part the catches, take the METAL HANDLE. Inside, set it on the central lift axle, turn anticlockwise, rise.

Chapter 6: the Abbey Tower

At the window, part the clasps, climb in. Reach the lower floors. Down the steps left to the torchlit landing, the iron-bound box: press the centre button, turn the wheel to match its symbols with the recess, part the doors: a field missing a piece. Right, the disc by the cabinet: turn the dark inner ring 1 to align its slots with the inner circle’s horizontal slots, push in handles 2, unlock the outer wheel 3, turn rings 1 and 3 to align with the vertical slots, push in handles 4. With handles 2 (the rectangle) and 4 (the gold circle), bring the gold circle with its frame to the bottom; turn the sphere until it opens, take the SQUARE MEDALLION; a mechanism rises from the niche. At the box, set the medallion on the field and drive it with the buttons below across the light squares, flipping each in one pass without gaps; a light square needs two passes. Do all four faces of the cube, take the GEAR, read the message to the master, Infinitum on, part the papers, memorise the geometric figures on the bottom sheet. Fit the gear in the disc mechanism: the cabinet opens. Set the figures on top in the sheet’s order, turn the left lever, take the GOLD DIAL WITH GEAR and SILVER DISC. At the astrolabe left of the box, set the silver disc in the centre: ring windows appear. Turn the centre disc to line them up vertically, note each sits on a sun or moon phase, turn the left lever: the rings move. Note the phases. Take the SMALL KEY from the recess; on the box’s left wall slide the shutter, insert, anticlockwise, take the ODD-SHAPED OBJECT. The device in the room’s centre, Infinitum on: turn the bottom wheel to line up the plates with two figures. The stair swings to the hanging wooden structure. Up one flight, open the door, the wall niche: turn the wheels to direct the disc on the axle to the fixed disc above. The observatory frame settles. Take the DEVICE PART, combine with the gold dial for the ASSEMBLED DIAL, set it in the centre. Left screens: full moon and full sun; right screens: second phase moon, first quarter sun (from the astrolabe rings). The dial lights; turn the hands to seat the glowing plates in the ring. At the wooden box under the frame, set the odd-shaped object on the axle, turn, take the CROSS-BASED KEY; at the astrolabe’s centre, insert, anticlockwise. Tempus on, trace, scrub to where the rings line up, set the real rings the same, off, turn the lever, take the SILVER FOUR-POINTED MEDALLION, note the phases under the rings. At the device set them below (quarter moon, moon lower quarter, moon third, sun less a quarter), seat the plates again. Under the box, move the catches, take the IRON-BOUND WOODEN WHEEL. Infinitum on the control below, set the plates on the figures: the stair moves. Up: below right fit the wheel, in the front projection the silver medallion. A hatch opens; go down; the boards give way.

Chapter 7: the lower floors

Red-hooded figures watch you. Zoom on the gear on the pipe from vessel 2, left, turn anticlockwise, take the GEAR; Infinitum on the levers, set them to build the column of figures seen in the past. Liquid from vessel 3 flows into the central container; its left catch opens. Right, the box under the shelf, take the drawing: achievement, Flying Machine. Right, a step to the wall, fit the gear in the hole, Infinitum on: the left lever sets the latch heights, the right gear moves the catch sideways; align the tops, open the gate. Up the stairs to the microscope table, read Leonardo. Open the Gates of Time. Take the FOUR-HANDLED WHEEL and, from the stand behind the microscope, the EMPTY TEST TUBE. At the workbench left, fit the wheel, turn clockwise, take the LONG SCREW from it. At the device right of the bench, set the screw, tighten, lift the housing, turn the lever: a platform with a box lowers onto the bench. Take the WHEEL and WOODEN BOX. Set the box on the frame right of the microscope, open its latch and doors, slide the lens forward. Down to the first level, fit the wheel to vessel 3’s pipe, Infinitum on, turn the wheels and shift gear with the top lever to build the figures. Turquoise liquid flows; the second catch opens. Hold the empty tube under the drips for a FULL TEST TUBE. Up, set it in the stand, turn the left mirror to put the beam on it, take the SMALL LENS from the open box’s side, fit it in the eyepiece, focus, take the MEDALLION from below, set it in the slot on the table’s right side, turn, take the LEVER. Down, at vessel 1’s pipe, fit the lever, Infinitum on, work it from all sides to build the column. The third catch opens. Lower the catches, lift the cover, take the SMALL MODEL FLYING MACHINE. Up, set it before the box lens, look through, turn and focus; a catch releases the tube of liquid. The code is on the model: copy the symbols. Take the FULL TEST TUBE of violet, put it in the microscope stand in the beam, focus, take the GOLD HANDLE. Down, fit it in the container’s right side, slide left, open the housing, set the drums to 4 × 2 = 8, then below set the symbols from the model. Pump until the gauge is hard right. Turn taps 5, 3, 4: the cylinder-lighter over tap 4 breaks off. Pump again, drop 5, 3, 4 again, go up to the fortified chest whose door has opened, take the LIGHTER and LEVER. Down, screw the lighter into place, turn the remaining taps; the machine runs. Up, Tempus on the dark right corner, trace, slider hard right: three vessels holding 3-4-5. Take the LEVER from the chest, fit it at the three graduated vessels left of the table. Pour from the vessel the lower handle points at into the one the upper pipe points at: from 2-7-5 to 0-7-5, 7-0-5, 10-0-2, 3-7-2, 3-4-5. Turn the lever below. Watch the ending.
