The Council: Episode Three, Ripples

by lenin 17 part 3 of 5 56 sections about 23 minutes to read

Episode Three of The Council, Ripples, covers chapters eight to ten: the assembly on the future of Louisiana, the moment Louis has to tell one twin from the other, and the artefact hunt that opens the door in the crypt. The episode has two different openings depending on how you got out of Mortimer’s secret study, and this walkthrough covers both.

The game’s mechanics, classes, skills and controls are described in the guide to the first episode.

What you chose in episode two

Chapter six. Whether to tell Emily the truth about Louis’s vision or say nothing, which changes her attitude to him.

Chapter seven. Whether to go and look for your mother or overhear Piaggi and von Wöllner in the corridor. This had no real effect on the story.

Important: one moment in episode two decided its ending and therefore the start of episode three. Either Louis got out of Mortimer’s secret study by himself, which gave the trait Deft and let him meet his mother in the crypt, or he needed help and Jacques Peru let him out, which gave the trait Careless and put George Washington in the crypt instead. That gives two different openings here.

Both converge on the same scene in the crypt with all the guests and Lord Mortimer, after which you are asked to choose three manuscripts.

Chapter eight: the assembly

Opening for the Deft route

A pistol is pressed to the back of Louis’s head. Turning, he sees his mother. Sarah does not believe the man in front of her is her son Louis.

Below is one successful way through the confrontation, which has four stages and allows three mistakes. If it fails, Sarah offers no explanations at all and marches Louis off to the assembly at gunpoint, which counts as a Failure at the end of the chapter.

Goal: calm your mother

Stage 1. “What are you doing here?” — “I want to save you”, needing Conviction level 2, 3 action points.

Stage 2. Sarah’s motto, “Always be judicious…” — “…and open”, needing Conviction level 1, difficulty 1. The same line can also be picked without the skill.

Stage 3. “What was the art dealer’s name?” — “Von Borchert.”

Stage 4. “Has Louis spoken to Mortimer?” — “He did not even come out when I arrived.”

Final stage. “Has anything strange happened to Louis on the island?” — “I found out what connects you with Elizabeth”, needing Science level 1, difficulty 2.

Then “…I was only trying to help her” — “I believe you.”

That earns “I calmed Sarah de Richet” in the Success column. The conversation that follows offers lines and questions that affect only the conversation itself.

Sarah insists Louis must attend the assembly and find out Mortimer’s plans, but warns him not to believe the lord. Saying they will meet later, she sends him off. As he goes, Louis mentions that Emily Hillsborrow came to the island looking for her sister Emma. Sarah says the duchess is not worth a thought at present.

Opening for the Careless route

George Washington comes down into the crypt and finds Louis bent over the body of a masked man. He assumes Sarah did it. Pick whichever answers you prefer.

A bell rings for the start of the assembly. The president of the United States suggests Louis take his mother’s place at it, since he and Sarah were to back Mortimer.

Goal: follow your mother’s trail, or go to the assembly

Examine the room and the objects in it. Go close to the body and pick whichever actions you prefer. The man was struck on the back of the head and lost a lot of blood, but that is not what killed him: his neck is broken. Louis does not know his face.

Examining the body gives you the KEYS with the occult symbol “Air”. Search the room and pick up the book Organon and CARMELITE WATER. Look at the remains of the fire and find the ash still warm. Examining it convinces Louis his mother was here recently, and that he would have caught her if he had not been stuck in Mortimer’s study.

Both routes: goal, attend the assembly

Leave the crypt, cross the garden maze, go into the mansion and on to the great hall.

The great assembly hall

The guests have broken into groups; only Jacques Peru is sitting alone. That earns “I took part in the assembly” in the Success column.

Goal: talk to Lord Mortimer

Search the room first and collect what is available.

  • MEAD (two), CARMELITE WATER and AMBER SHARDS, in a locked casket. Open it either with “Open the left lock” and “Open the right lock”, needing two keys patterned with the alchemical symbol for water, or with “Pick both locks”, needing Agility.
  • COLLECTIBLE COINS 34 and 35, on the two tables in the alcoves.

Go up to Jacques Peru and speak to him. Jacques says Mortimer is waiting for Louis, and at the end of it advises him not to trust the lord.

Go over to the lord, who is talking to George Washington. Mortimer suggests Louis stand in for his mother at the assembly. Put every available question to him.

Having answered them, the lord asks Louis to stay so he can let him in on his plans, and Washington steps aside.

Mortimer explains that the assembly is about the future of Louisiana, and that he intends to hand it to France. Pick whichever lines you prefer.

The plan, he explains, was worked out with Sarah de Richet. Spain is to hand Louisiana to France, France then hands it to the United States, and their territory doubles. Mortimer sets out the reaction that may come from Godoy, and regrets Sarah is not here, because there was a great deal about his design she did not know. He suggests they talk again after the assembly. Louis wonders whether his mother might be wrong about Mortimer.

The assembly

Everyone takes their seat. As the discussion heats up, various lines are offered:

  • On Mortimer introducing Louis to the assembly, and on Godoy’s jab at Sarah de Richet for having failed, in his view, to protect the king of France.
  • On Godoy’s statement that the Indians are savages, which is timed. Choosing to talk about the Indians brings another jab from the Spanish minister.
  • On Manuel Godoy’s direct question about Mortimer’s proposal to hand Louisiana to France.

Opportunity: after Washington’s “With friends like you, sir, one hardly needs enemies”, an active point appears on Washington’s head, needing Politics. Louis wonders: “Is it me, or is Mortimer not telling Washington his whole plan?”

Cardinal Piaggi declares that the Vatican will not care for Catholic Louisiana being handed to godless revolutionaries who killed their own king. Godoy asks Louis’s opinion.

Opportunity: after the exchange between the cardinal and Louis, Piaggi says something in Latin, with an active point on his forehead, needing Linguistics. Louis translates his words to Sir Gregory: “Teach this presumptuous young man to behave, Sir Gregory”, and understands he is not to everyone’s taste here.

Opportunity: after Duchess Hillsborrow’s “The English crown will be against it”, Wöllner says something in German, with an active point on his collar, needing Linguistics. Louis translates the ambassador’s words to Emily: “I assure you, Emily, that Prussia will never agree”, and supposes von Wöllner means to wreck Mortimer’s plan.

Opportunity: Holm joins in, saying nobody wants the swamps of Louisiana. Godoy cuts him off, but Wöllner takes Sir Gregory’s part with “Nobody asked you, the queen’s favourite…”, with an active point on Wöllner’s head, needing Psychology. Louis notes: “Holm, Godoy, now von Wöllner. Mortimer’s opponents are ready to fly at each other’s throats… and he watches them with relish.”

Mortimer’s proposal splits the guests into two camps.

  • An important choice: “Side with Mortimer” or “Side with Holm”.

Siding with Mortimer

Louis de Richet, Napoleon Bonaparte, George Washington and Jacques Peru stay with Mortimer, and they go to the lord’s study.

Mortimer asks Louis to answer Washington’s question and let him in on the plan. He sets out his own position on the spread of democracy and asks Louis to go on, then suggests Washington keep on objecting to everything he says tomorrow.

He asks Louis to stay behind and offers him a service to perform: go to Señor Godoy and persuade him to join them. Louis doubts he will manage it, but Mortimer is sure he will. The lord admits he will not be sorry if Duke Manuel comes to think of Louis as an enemy: if he declares war on France, that suits them.

Go down to the first floor.

Siding with Holm

Sir Gregory’s supporters gather in his room, and Holm wonders what Lord Mortimer is up to. Choose the lines and questions you prefer.

Sir Gregory plans to start a real war with France and gives out instructions. Having discussed the situation, he suggests everyone rest before tomorrow’s assembly and asks Louis to stay. He asks him to bring Mr. Washington over to their side. Answer as you prefer and go down to the first floor.

Both routes: the first-floor corridor

Go right along the corridor and note Peru’s nameplate lying on the floor. Go in through the half-open door of Jacques’s room.

Jacques Peru’s room

Look at the disorder. Important: read the letter lying on the desk. Then go out onto the balcony, where a distraught Jacques Peru is standing. Talk to him, taking the topics in this order: “Say nothing”, then “Are you afraid for your daughter?”

Reading Jacques’s letter to his daughter and then taking the conversation in that order earns “I learned that Jacques Peru will do anything for his daughter” in the Success column.

Go right along the balcony into Napoleon’s room.

Napoleon Bonaparte’s room

Find the manuscript on the desk and read the letter attached to it. Bonaparte is preparing to publish a book which, judging by the handwriting, Mortimer wrote. That earns “I learned that Lord Mortimer is Napoleon Bonaparte’s patron”.

Go out into the corridor and on to Johann von Wöllner’s room.

Von Wöllner’s room

On the bedroom table, find a note signed “Gregory H.” That earns “I learned that Gregory Holm and Johann von Wöllner are close friends”. Leave the room.

Siding with Mortimer: goal, try to change Manuel Godoy’s mind

Go to Duke Manuel’s room, next to de Richet’s, and find von Wöllner at the door. Wöllner would also like a word with Godoy but has found the door locked. Choose “The duke asked me…” and Louis goes in.

Manuel Godoy’s room

Go to the table in the centre of the room and look at the portrait of the queen of Spain, Maria Luisa of Parma, lying on it. Choose “Notice a detail”, needing Subterfuge level 1, difficulty 3, and find a LETTER on the back of the picture.

Louis works out that the letter is scented and written in Spanish. In it Godoy begs a woman called Josefa to come back, for the sake of their future children. Louis gloats over what the queen of Spain would make of it, and takes the letter. You now have something to blackmail Godoy with.

Collect what else is in the room:

  • KEY WITH THE OCCULT SYMBOL “AIR”, on the piano.
  • The Nobility of the Sword, on the table in the corner of the next room.
  • COLLECTIBLE COIN 36, on the mantelpiece.

Try to leave and Louis decides to go out by the balcony instead, since Wöllner is still at the door. Go out onto the balcony, back in through your own room, out into the corridor, then to the stairs and down to the ground floor.

The hall

COLLECTIBLE COIN 37 lies on the floor by the armchair. Go into the dining room.

Confrontation with Godoy

You find Godoy playing the piano. Speak to him.

Stage 1. “Do you want something from me?” — “Ask what is troubling him”, needing Psychology level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.

Stage 2. “Why did you back Mortimer?” — use his weakness and choose “The Order backs Mortimer”, needing Occultism level 1, difficulty 4.

Stage 3. “Does it serve Spain to hand Louisiana to France?”

  • “Louisiana is more trouble than it is worth”, needing Logic level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.
  • Or use his weakness again, while the previous use is still in effect, and choose “You personally stand to gain”, needing Manipulation, difficulty 4.

Final stage. “What do I gain from the deal?” — “Convince him that Mortimer will be grateful”, needing Conviction level 2, difficulty 4, and 3 action points.

Manuel Godoy says that if Mortimer backs him, then they can count on his vote. That earns “I convinced Manuel Godoy”.

Siding with Holm: goal, try to change George Washington’s mind

Go to the president’s apartment and find him out. Search the rooms and head for the exit; the door opens and the president of the United States comes in.

Stage 1. “What are you doing in my room, Louis?” — “I heard a suspicious noise”, needing Diversion level 1, difficulty 3.

Stage 2. “So how can I help?” — “Mortimer’s plan does not serve you.”

Stage 3. “And why should I join Holm?” — “Shake his trust in Mortimer”, needing Etiquette level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.

You can instead choose “Ask a personal favour”, but only if you granted Washington’s request in chapter two and distracted Elizabeth. Otherwise that line loses.

Final stage. “What can Sir Gregory offer me that Lord Mortimer has not already given?” — “Peace.”

Washington agrees to join Holm’s supporters. That earns “I convinced George Washington”.

Both routes: goal, go to bed

Louis de Richet’s room

Duchess Hillsborrow is waiting for Louis. Answer as you prefer; the chapter summary records either “I spent the night with Emily Hillsborrow” or “I decided not to spend the night with Emily Hillsborrow”.

Emily is surprised at the side Louis has taken. She is convinced Mortimer will lose and suggests he think it over. If you spent the night, the conversation continues and you choose whether to give in to her urging and cross over to Holm’s camp. Giving in records “I gave in to Emily Hillsborrow’s urging” if you were on Mortimer’s side.

Louis and Emily go through to the bedroom. Choose your answers. Emily suggests changing the subject, since she did not come to make idle talk but to spend the night in Louis’s bed.

Louis wakes in the night. He has another vision, present at a conversation among Holm’s supporters which touches on their attitude to him. On the duchess, absent from the meeting, Sir Gregory advises the others to trust her more. Holm seems to sense Louis’s presence.

Waking in the morning already dressed, Louis hears a knock: a servant announces the start of the assembly. He goes to the hall.

The great assembly hall

Lord Mortimer asks each of them to speak on yesterday’s proposal. Sir Gregory, Duchess Hillsborrow and Cardinal Piaggi vote against.

If you sided with Mortimer

To Sir Gregory’s surprise, Manuel Godoy backs down and tells Holm that Spain is no longer on his side. Mortimer looks at Louis approvingly. At the same time the Spanish minister announces that he will declare war on France. Napoleon votes for Mortimer’s proposal despite Lady Hillsborrow’s persuasive words in the night; she tries to explain that it was only a conversation, but Louis suspects she was trying her own way of pulling an opponent across. Washington votes for. Only Louis and Peru are left.

If you sided with Holm

Napoleon votes for Mortimer’s proposal despite Lady Hillsborrow’s persuasive words in the night; she tries to explain it was only a conversation, but Louis suspects otherwise. He asks George Washington about his own position, and Washington unexpectedly declares his support for Sir Gregory. Only Louis and Peru are left.

Both routes

Jacques makes an unexpected declaration, putting a pistol to his temple.

  • An important choice: “Intervene” or “Stay out of it”.

Intervening

Stage 1. “Can you never leave it alone? Stop playing the hero!” — “You deserve better”, needing Psychology level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.

Reminding Jacques of his daughter instead changes the story somewhat, as below.

Stage 2. Jacques begins to waver — “It will all be well”, needing Conviction level 2, difficulty 4, and 3 action points.

Stage 3. “Really?” — “Let us behave sensibly”, needing Etiquette level 1, difficulty 3.

Louis takes the pistol off Jacques.

Choose the wrong line and Jacques kills himself with a shot to the head, which also changes the story somewhat, as below.

After the incident, having sent Jacques off to rest, Lord Mortimer suggests continuing the assembly later. The chapter is summed up.

Chapter nine: face to face

Mortimer’s study

Those present are talking excitedly about what Jacques Peru did. Mortimer calms them all and thanks Louis for a brave act. He suggests everyone take a break and keeps Louis back for a word.

This is also how it goes if Louis failed to stop Jacques. The only difference is that a section is missing later, the one where you can get into Emily’s room by way of Jacques Peru’s balcony.

Go up to the lord and talk. He says Jacques is in his room, having been given a sedative so he does not try to shoot himself again. Lord Mortimer is withdrawing his support from Jacques Peru but leaving him his life. He also says he has “a few cards left up his sleeve”.

Goal: return to your room

Leave the study and go down to the first floor. From the stairs go right and talk to Napoleon, who has been dressing a servant down for leaving his window open. Ask Napoleon about his conversation with Emily. Try to call on Peru; the servant has clear instructions from Lord Mortimer and lets nobody in.

Go to Duchess Hillsborrow’s door and knock three times. On the third knock Emily’s voice comes from inside, but she has no intention of letting Louis in.

Go into Godoy’s room. Godoy is in a hurry to see Sir Gregory and does not want to talk; whatever you choose, Manuel shows Louis the door.

Talk to Piaggi as well before you go back to your room: he is sitting in an armchair in the corridor opposite Adams’s door. He can be easy to miss, so if he is not there, step into a room and come out again. Talking to him earns “I learned that Cardinal Piaggi was untroubled by what had happened”.

Head for your room.

If Jacques shot Louis

Louis comes round on the bed in his own room, with Mortimer’s guests and the lord gathered around him. Satisfied that he will be all right, they leave, and Louis makes himself presentable. Leave the bedroom and you find Mr. Washington in the room, offering a cup of herbal tea.

Both routes: Louis’s room

Louis is sitting on the sofa when there is a knock. He opens the door to George Washington, who says he saw Louis’s mother go into the duchess’s room with Emily. Louis remembers Emily’s plan to avenge her sister and runs straight out into the corridor.

Goal: find Emily Hillsborrow

Hurry to the duchess’s room. A muffled conversation comes through the door and Louis makes out Emily’s voice.

Goal: find a way into Emily Hillsborrow’s room

Try each option in turn; the door will not open and the voices go on. Louis works out that it has been wedged from the other side. There are two ways round.

Route 1: through Napoleon’s room

Step away from the door and run to the next door on the left, Napoleon’s room. Go up to the door on the right. Louis looks through the keyhole and sees a key in the lock on the other side.

Move back from the door, take the CARD from the table and come back. Examine the gap between the door and the floor and push the card through it. Examine the lock. Push the door, then pull the card back. Unlock the door with the key. Go out onto the balcony and to the duchess’s bedroom door.

Route 2: through Jacques Peru’s room

Step away from the door and run to Jacques Peru’s room, where you find von Wöllner trying to bring Jacques round.

If Louis and Wöllner are in opposing camps, this is a confrontation.

Stage 1. “Do not tell me you and Peru have something planned.” — “And what are you doing here?”, needing Diversion level 1, difficulty 2.

Stage 2. “Perhaps you know where the secret room is?” — “In his study, perhaps?”, needing Logic level 1, difficulty 3.

Wöllner leaves the room. Go up to Jacques, who is insensible, examine him and search his pockets. Louis has never met anything like it, because he cannot work out what Jacques was drugged with. That earns “I tried to understand what had happened to Jacques Peru”.

If Louis and Wöllner are both on Holm’s side, simply talk to Wöllner. He tells Louis about the Al Azif and asks him to leave the room.

Both routes

Go out onto the balcony and along to the right. The far right door takes you into Emily’s room.

Emily Hillsborrow’s room

Louis hears several voices. Go through into the next room. Louis rushes to his mother, lying on the floor. Meanwhile the two sisters have pistols levelled at each other. One does not want a murder committed, the other wants revenge. The trouble is that the sisters are identical.

Goal: work out which is the real Emily Hillsborrow

One of them puts a pistol into Louis’s hand. The other demands he say which of them is Emily. Louis decides to ask a few questions to be sure.

You can ask either woman anything you like, but both of them know the right answers. Louis realises this is getting him nowhere, looks around and decides to ask about the secret room.

On the topic “Do you want to ask me about that night?”, ask the woman in front of you: “What did we find there?”, needing Vigilance level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.

One of them then offers to be asked about themselves. On the topic “Very well, let us talk about us”, ask the woman in front of you: “Why did you decide to come to me last night?”, needing Psychology level 2, difficulty 3, and 3 action points.

Louis says he knows which of them is Emily.

  • The choice: “Emily is opposite me” or “Emily is behind me”.

The real Emily is the one standing in front of Louis; her sister Emma is the one behind him. The journal confirms it, and so do the abilities Questioning and Manipulation: Emma is immune to both, and the journal’s character section records that.

Emily shoots her sister. The shot brings Sarah de Richet round, and she looks about in confusion, not understanding what is happening. Somebody knocks at the door. Emily demands they leave at once. Louis and his mother arrange to meet in the crypt. That earns “I protected one of the Hillsborrow sisters”.

Goal: meet your mother in the crypt

You come out on the balcony, and men’s voices carry from Emily’s room. Go back inside through the door into Napoleon Bonaparte’s room, out into the corridor, and towards Emily’s door. Piaggi, Napoleon and Godoy are standing there, having heard the shot. Louis joins them. Sir Gregory comes out and asks everyone to disperse.

Go down to the ground floor and into the library. From there go into the picture gallery, and out into the garden through the door on the left. On the table in the corner find the book Academy of Sciences Memorandum, then head for the crypt. On the bench find a KEY with a symbol. Go down the stairs and deeper into the crypt.

Sarah grabs her son’s arm and drags him further in, saying they must hurry. Louis stands his ground and demands an explanation. Sarah says he will find her account hard to believe: many years ago she discovered that demons live among them. Louis listens with disbelief, and Sarah confirms what he has guessed. She says Borchert was to hand the book to the demon in person, to Mortimer.

Ask whatever you prefer and hear the answers.

Important: raise the subject of the Al Azif, which earns “I learned something new about the Al Azif”.

Work through all the topics and agree to leave. Sarah says it is time to stop the demons. She asks about the project Mortimer put to the assembly, and Louis tells her the lord’s plan. His mother intends to wreck it. Sarah leads Louis deeper into the crypt, and the chapter is summed up.

Chapter ten: the test of faith

The crypt

Sarah de Richet and Louis stand before a door with something behind it that “can help defeat the demons”. Opening it takes several artefact keys.

You get the ARCHITECT’S NOTE. Put every question to Sarah to get the hints about where the artefacts are:

  • The cross fell out of her pocket when she recoiled from the door that took her arm off, so it should be nearby.
  • The nails were already in place when Sarah came to the door, but there is a set in the secret study behind The Nightmare, in a golden bowl.
  • 1191 is the code to get into the secret study, and 6466 the code to get out.
  • The Interpretation of Judas is the Gospel of Judas, in the hidden room behind the fireplace.
  • The armillary sphere in the library is too large; a smaller one is needed.
  • The Gutenberg Bible: look in the tower room.
  • The dates are on the back of the note Sarah gave Louis.

Sarah warns that the demon can take possession of any of the guests, so Louis should not be candid with them.

Two things are worth doing in a particular order here. Before taking Clement III’s cross, call on Piaggi in his room: there is an interesting conversation with the cardinal and the chance to take his cross as well. Then pick up the cross under the bench in the crypt on the way back. That way the Success column gains both “I stole a cross from Giuseppe Piaggi” and “I found the cross mother lost”, the trait Sharp-eyed is unlocked, and the overall score is higher.

Goal: find the Cross of Clement III

Collect what is here:

  • SARAH DE RICHET’S CROSS, under the bench by the wall, to the right of the exit. That earns “I found the cross mother lost”.
  • COLLECTIBLE COIN 38, in the corner on the right, by the torch.
  • COLLECTIBLE COINS 39 and 40, on the bench by the wall.
  • COLLECTIBLE COIN 41, on the bench to the right of the one the cross was under.

Goal: find the Interpretation of Judas

Leave the crypt, cross the garden maze and go into the house, to the picture gallery. Examine the statues in the side room and turn the gorgon’s bust to face the hero with the shield. Go into the hidden room.

The trophy room

Open the glass lid of the table and take the INTERPRETATION OF JUDAS.

Goal: find the Bible

Leave the hidden room through the fireplace and go to the stairs up to the first floor, then into the tower room.

The tower room

Louis finds George Washington here. Clear the negative state, Confusion. Washington shows Louis the charred sheets he pulled out of the fireplace, the last messages from Sarah and Emma. Choose whatever you like, then go into the next room and take the GUTENBERG BIBLE from the table.

Goal: find the armillary sphere

Speak to Washington, standing by the painting. He has found a letter written in the layer of dust. Louis reflects that the president will not be pleased when he notices the Bible has gone. That earns “I learned that George Washington is still trying to find out why mother disappeared”.

Godoy can also be spoken to during this artefact hunt. He sits downstairs by the great fireplace with the giant statue above it, and he is the one who can tell you where to look for the armillary sphere. Talking to him earns “I discussed the outcome of the assembly with Manuel Godoy”.

Go out into the corridor and to Johann von Wöllner’s room, and take the ARMILLARY SPHERE from the cabinet.

Goal: find the nails

From Wöllner’s room go up to Mortimer’s study on the second floor. Go to the desk, press the pedal, and enter 1191 on the mechanism that opens.

Mortimer’s secret study

Take MORTIMER’S NAILS out of the golden bowl on the laboratory table. That earns “I found all the keys mother asked for”.

Goal: meet your mother

Go to the mechanism and enter 6466, then head for the crypt.

The door

Talk to Sarah and hear her advice on the order of operations:

  • Place the CROSS OF CLEMENT III on the stand.
  • Set the NAILS into the disc on the door.

Ask how the nails are to be set. She gives the example of the fresco, which shows the birth of Jesus: Bethlehem, chapter 2, verse 6.

Goal: place the cross on the control panel

Put the CROSS on the stand.

Goal: choose an event and set the nails into the door

Go close to the door. Choose “Study the fresco”, which shows the birth of Jesus; Sarah points out that the fresco has nothing to do with the puzzle. Read the Interpretation of Judas. Choose “Study the door as a whole”: it carries three kinds of inscription. Choose “Think about the places”: all the inscriptions relate to the life and death of Jesus.

Then choose “Go back to the beginning” and “Set the nails”, to:

GOLGOTHA, 17, XIX

The centre of the door panel opens and a console with levers appears in the table.

Goal: set the discs to match the event and pull the lever

Choose “Study the inner discs”: the discs are linked to one another. Work out the arrangement from the Interpretation. Then go to the door, put your hand into the recess, and turn the lever.

The chapter is summed up. End of episode three.
