SEQUENCE FOR MOVING THE LOCK MECHANISM KNOBS
DETAILED SOLUTION
 
 

STARTING POSITION

 

01) Move each of the two leftmost round knobs one hole to the left
02) Move the right round knob to the centre hole
03) Move two leftmost triangles to the left (via the bottom)
04) Move rightmost triangle to the bottom hole
05) Move the round knob from the centre to the extreme right hole

 

HOW THE MECHANISM SHOULD LOOK AT THIS POINT

 

06) Move the top two triangles to the right (sixth and seventh holes)
07) Move the second round knob to the centre hole
08) Move the bottom triangle to the left (third hole)
09) Move the top left triangle to the fourth hole (via the bottom)
10) Move the rightmost triangle to the bottom hole
11) Move the round knob from the centre to the second last hole

 

HOW THE MECHANISM SHOULD LOOK AT THIS POINT

 

12) Move the top two triangles to the sixth and seventh holes
13) Move the last (left) round knob to the centre hole
14) Move the bottom triangle to the left (second hole)
15) Move the top left triangle to the third hole (via the bottom)
16) Move the top right triangle to the fourth hole (via the bottom)
17) Move the round knobs into their correct positions
