As Frank Gilman, a member of the Anthropology Department at Miskatonic University, you take part in the Upuaut expedition led by Dr. Faust. The group attempts to go beyond the limits of human consciousness using a device called Conarium.
When you regain consciousness, you are alone in the Antarctic expedition base and remember nothing. Soon, you discover that after using the device during the expedition, you died and returned subtly changed.
You begin speaking of strange memories and strange places. It is unclear whether you have lost something important or gained something sinister.
