The Little Acre invites you to travel back to Ireland in the 1950s. Here, you’ll find a stunning graphic adventure that follows the story of Aidan and his young daughter, Lily, as they investigate the ominous disappearance of Aidan’s father.

The two end up in a strange world populated by bizarre, memorable characters. Lily doesn’t help matters by deciding to mount her own investigation, which only leads to further risk.

The Little Acre is the first game from developer Pewter Games. It’s also the first game for which Charles Cecil (Broken Sword) has acted as Executive Producer. Pewter has also signed a publishing agreement with Curve Digital.

Chris Conlan, Co-Founder, Pewter Games: There were already a few nods to Broken Sword within The Little Acre, so to be working with Charles officially is a dream. His insight so far has been invaluable, and his experience in the genre is second to none. We’re absolutely over the moon he is on board!

Ben Clavin, other Co-Founder, Pewter Games: Mine and Chris’s gaming background is strangely disparate. Whilst between us we’ve played all the essentials, there’s only one series that we have both played – and that’s Broken Sword. Charles is one of the biggest names in adventure gaming, so having him agree to join the team is a huge endorsement of the work we’ve been doing.

Charles Cecil: When I first saw The Little Acre, I was blown away by the game’s beauty and attention to detail. I was delighted to discover how much of an influence Broken Sword had had on The Little Acre and was enormously flattered when Chris and Ben asked me to act as Executive Producer. It’s a game I would have been extremely proud to have written myself and I am very excited to be building a relationship, and friendship, with a very talented young development team.

Chris, some weirdo and Ben…

The Little Acre is fully voiced and features lovingly-crafted, hand-drawn 2D animation, fully-animated cutscenes and an original score. It has two playable characters.

The game has been Greenlit and will be released later in 2016 for Windows, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One. And BTW, The Little Acre is the first-ever Xbox One game to come out of Ireland.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
