It’s a stormy night. All you’re trying to do is deliver a pizza to Emily and hopefully collect a decent tip. You discover that Emily’s house is overgrown and boarded up, but the lights are on and the front door is open.

Forging ahead, you step inside. Big mistake. The door closes behind you, and you become trapped in Emily’s house.

As you roam around, Emily and her dolls will be roaming around as well. They just want to play, but you do your best to avoid them as they’re not very nice. The kinds of games they have in mind are anything but fun.

In reaction to this game’s scary events, YouTubers have reportedly broken headphones, microphones and keyboards (among other things).

Emily Wants to Play has no blood or gore. Instead, it will do a dance on your nerves as you travel through the creepy story (and house). You’ll never know what to expect, and deadly mistakes are possible. The game also has some jump-scares.

Do you think you can survive the night? Let the games begin…

Emily Wants to Play, from indie developer Shawn Hitchcock/SKH, is available on Steam for PC/Windows and Mac at a 10% discount ($4.49) until January 4, 2016.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
