The Banana Jam is Back!

Banana Jam is an annual game jam organized by Nerd Monkeys Ltd in search of new talent and great ideas in which to invest. Submit your game idea and it might be made into a real game by jam participants!

Nerd Monkeys isn’t looking for submissions that are complex or detailed. Banana Jam requests only broad concepts that leave room for jammers to be creative while they’re developing the games.

The submissions are super easy to do, and you can submit as many different ideas as you’d like. However, spamming the same idea will result in disqualification.

The game jam will last three months. It’s a way for solo, small or big teams, or full-or part-time developers to have an opportunity to participate. If you’d rather develop and submit the game in 48 or 72 hours;  a week or a month; or on the last day, you can. It’s up to you.

The most important thing is for everyone to have fun while learning from this “bananastic” experience. All developers and authors are encouraged to keep working on their projects even after the jam ends. Nerd Monkeys will not retain IP rights of submitted projects.

So sign up and get ready for some hardcore game development! Complete details are available right here.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
