You are Monsieur Jayjay Falcon, a bird of prey with a good heart and questionable lawyering expertise. Along with your apprentice, Sparrowson, you defend clients who have tangled with the law.
You and Sparrowson will interview witnesses, collect evidence, engage in other such investigatory activities and, hopefully, deliver justice to the guilty!
In the courtroom, you must take care in proving your client’s innocence. Mistakes can add up, causing you to lose the case. Such an event won’t end the story, however. It will continue and just become “darker” (although the manner in which it will darken hasn’t yet been specified).
For the most part, the look of Aviary Attorney has been inspired/drawn from works in the public domain, including the art of J.J. Grandville and a range of 19th-century illustrated books. The music features French romantic composers such as Camille Saint-Saëns. This is not only classy, it fits the game perfectly.
Aviary Attorney will feature an engaging narrative with meaningful choices and branching paths, and a very colorful cast of characters. There will be dozens of locations to explore around Paris. And you, along with Sparrowson, will have four high-pressure cases to work through (with potential for more in the future!).
Sketchy Logic Games is looking to release Aviary Attorney for PC and Mac in June 2015.
A Kickstarter campaign with a base goal of £7,000 — 34% of which has currently been achieved — will run until January 8, 2015. A Greenlight campaign is also in progress.
