From the Kickstarter, Crossing Souls: An Adventure Between Life and Death is an action-adventure with RPG touches set in a classic 80’s style. You will play in a orthogonal 2D view slightly similar to classics like The Legend of Zelda

Crossing Souls tells the incredible story of a group of friends who will live the summer of their lives after uncovering a mysterious artifact whose powers they don’t fully understand but will change their lives forever. Its 1986 and a band of four friends living in California uncover a mysterious stone with unique powers, and set out on an adventure that pulls them between life and death.

The player will be able to control five different characters, mixing each one’s unique abilities and weapons to overcome all the challenges and obstacles ahead of them. You will explore lots of places, interact with hundreds of NPC from different periods of time, solve puzzles, look for secret places and treasures, and fight against enemies in order to save your loved ones.

The band of accidental heroes will have an artifact of invaluable power: the DUAT stone. Through this artifact they will be able to connect to the death plane and the thousands of souls that exist there, awaiting their trial to be able to finally rest in peace. But, be careful, no one knows what repercussions the use of this stone may have – is it as harmless as it seems?

Indie developer Fourattic is seeking to raise $45,000 with the campaign ending on December 17th, 2014.

Coming to PC, Mac, and Linux in 2015.

Devolver Digital is the publisher.

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process." - Vincent Van Gogh "I need solitude for my writing; not like a hermit - that wouldn't be enough - but like a dead man." - Franz Kafka "I've been to hell and back, my boy." - Susan Ashworth, The Cat Lady
