Styx: Master of Shadows Attack of the Clone Gameplay Video Released – September 11, 2014
Styx: Master of Shadows Summer Trailer and Info – July 22, 2014

Styx: Master of Shadows from Cyanide Studios and Focus Home Interactive has a unique verticality that is ample throughout the gallows, alleys, courtyards and winding halls within the Tower of Akenash.

The Assassin’s Green video below illustrates some of Styx’s skills as he uses stealth, weaponry and bold moves along with making smart use of the environment to get rid of the tower’s denizens.

The gameplay video below shows a continuous 14-minute game sequence, unedited and with developer commentary, originally presented at E3.

Skill is richly rewarded in Styx: Master of Shadows. The most skilled players will be able to swing organically from level-to-level and path-to-path unseen by foes guarding the way.

Armed only with his trusted dagger and a few throwing knives to use in long-range encounters, Styx relies more on his small stature and nimble athleticism to subvert those who seek to kill him. Remain aware, use the environment to your advantage, and you’ll soon be happily dispatching humans and elves while remaining unseen.

You’ll also be pushing people off ledges, pulling them by their legs to the gallows and leaping from huge heights to slit their throats or stab them from their shoulders. Smother them silently, swing around from behind, or thrust throwing daggers into their skulls. Drop crates onto the toughest of enemies and poison their drinking water. As violent as he is cunning, Styx’ best friends are his knife and the shadows.

Do you have what it takes to become the most efficient Goblin infiltrator?

Styx: Master of Shadows is set for release this October for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Editor’s note: For some reason, I’ve become rather attached to this cute little fellow…

I've been with JA in one capacity or other since 2003. I'm currently website administrator. I'm also a digital artist (my avatar is one of my creations). I write reviews and articles, create graphics and basically help tend the site. It's work I enjoy very much. I love playing games of all kinds, but adventure and RPGs are my favorites (particularly scary/dark/unsettling ones). At the top of my list are The Cat Lady, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life (first one only), Scratches and Culpa Innata. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool recluse and prefer the company of animals, hardware and ghosts to human beings (no offense). And no bio would be complete without my saying that I do NOT care for phones of ANY sort. Further, I think Dell computers are garbage and that Microsoft has become megalomaniacal.
