Alone in the Dark: Illumination – Teaser Trailer, Screens, Info
Atari and Pure FPS re-imagine the classic survival horror title, due out this Fall for PC

Earning the title as the first-ever 3D survival horror video game, the original Alone in the Dark™ created a genre that would continue to terrify gamers decades later. Released in 1992, it took inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft and sent players on a paranormal investigation, requiring them to gather clues and solve puzzles while defending themselves from otherworldly creatures.
Alone in the Dark™ brings you to the abandoned town of Lorwich, Virginia. Located near Virginia’s southern border, Lorwich was a flourishing industrial town with a bustling business generated by the local mines. These prosperous days came to an end when a flood devastated the mining facility, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. An immediate evacuation left the town desolate and long-forgotten.
But the cause of the accident is still a mystery and, years later, nobody dares step foot in the town for fear of what lies there. There have been numerous reports of strange creatures and a dark, brooding fog within the town. Locals speak of an ever-present force known as The Darkness, which has cast a spell over Lorwich, enveloping everything in its path.
In Alone in the Dark: Illumination™, players will engage in face-to-face battles with demons of the underworld: Shapes, Goblins, Demons, Ghouls, Hell Hounds and Reapers. There will be four playable charaters: the Hunter, Witch, Priest and Engineer.
Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the game will take you to the next level of the survival horror with new features such as the power of illumination, co-op multiplayer mode and dynamic environments.
Alone in the Dark: Illumination™, currently in closed Alpha, will be here this Fall for PC courtesy of developer Pure FPS and Atari.
