Never Alone is the first title in an exciting new genre known as World Games, which E-Line Media is pioneering to bring carefully selected traditional stories from indigenous cultures around the world to life in innovative and compelling ways for global audiences.
In Never Alone (also known as Kisima Ingitchuna in Alaskan Native language Iñupiat), players take on the roles of Nuna — a young Iñupiat girl — and an Arctic fox. Each has unique skills and abilities that will require them to work together to solve the game’s challenging puzzles.
Featuring imagery and themes drawn directly from Iñupiat and other Alaska Native cultures, Never Alone features striking visuals including dynamic weather effects. Nuna and Fox will brace against blizzards and use wind to leap to areas that are otherwise inaccessible. They will also find aid and assistance from hidden Iñupiat helping spirits.
E-Line Media has assembled a powerhouse development team that includes Iñupiat elders and storytellers to ensure the game’s cultural authenticity, along with the creative director of such all-time classics as Interstate ’76 and MechWarrior II. The seasoned team includes members who have worked on Tomb Raider: Underworld, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Tomb Raider: Legend, as well as character and art development for the SOCOM series of games. They’ve also contributed to many titles from id Sofware.
Never Alone will be released on November 4th as a digital download for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
